I normally do not post and I’m hoping this works.
The New Update is wonderful for us. We really like it with the smooth video now, larger viewing area, color is real and it is incredibly fast now.
We have 5 Wyze Cameras:
3 each v3
2 each OG
EXTREMELY HAPPY THANK YOU WYZE TEAM!!!
This also seems like good feedback to share in the official announcement topic. I’m puzzled by the choice of the cam-pan-v3 tag for this topic when you say that you have cam-v3 and cam-og, but the tagging system in the Forum can be confusing and frustrating sometimes.
I’m glad to see the Cam OG getting some love, too. I think it’s underrated for what it does, though I’m aware that some Forum members would vehemently disagree.
I am very happy with my Wyze setup too. I am still on App version 2.50 and v3 firmware 4.36.11.8391. If everything is working well for me, I am very slow to update until I hear good reports.
If anyone is using v3 firmware 4.36.13.0416, please let me know if it is working well for you or not.
The tags I have zero understanding on what to pick. It required 2. I was surprised that my message even posted.
Next, I am sorry I gave a Nice Happy post.
Next time, I won’t.
I have 5 Cam V3 on FW 4.36.13.0416 which seems to work fine other than the new behaviour issue which I managed to workaround it here.
The Web Live audio doesn’t seem to work on my old Floodlight V1 (which has the V3 camera with the same firmware). I’m guessing the firmware fixed the micro SD audio playback, but broke the Web Live integration audio.
I have 4 OGs and an OG Telephoto. I’d take them over the v3 any day, I bought one of those also and after comparing side by side it went right back.
From what I can see the v4 is basically the OG with upgraded image sensor (negligible video quality improvement) and the v3 UI. But it sacrifices a bit of color night vision sensitivity due to the higher resolution. For $15 to $20, the OG is tough to beat value wise.
I’m also very happy with the pan v3s, again the functionality for the $30 I paid is surprising.
Not sure if this is sarcasm but nobody here is disagreeing with you? It is nice to see an occasional “things are great” post, since usually forums are only used by people having issues or complaints.
I’m not surprised that it posted. I don’t think the Forum software does any comparisons between a post’s body and its tags, and, like I indicated earlier, the tagging system can be confusing and frustrating. I see now that a Moderator has re-tagged the topic to align with the cameras you described in your initial post.
Why is that? I think it’s awesome when someone shares a positive experience here! There’s so much negativity about the new app—especially in the announcement topic that I linked, and others—that I like seeing users share counterpoint, because I think there are some good features in the new app.
I hope that’s not the case. Please continue to post good and bad experiences. I think as a community we can all learn from both.
Same experience for me. Everything works well. I don’t use the new functionality that much. Although when I bring the streaming tab up everything is working. I normally rely on the events tab and bring up the associated camera directly. Nothing has changed for me from the way I’ve been interacting with the cameras for years. I’m happy with the new software version.
New update for Wyze is great at Saving the footsge for the most part but the update has made the footage extremely grany / blurry and no longer clear. I have had to resort back to.tjr Wyze 3
Ok , I have been using new Android app for about 2 weeks now , I have not (as yet) been to the depths of all changes or improvements but I must say , initially I am QUITE HAPPY about the obvious everyday use improvements !
The Home page layout of Cams is impressive and intuitive and My 3 V-3 and 2 OG’s all work much better when looking to retrieve events even though they are spread across 3 different wifi networks and modems across 60+ feet of yard and buildings and one of the OG’s and One V-3 are on paid cam+ subscription . . Previous posts expressed my frustration with the everyday work-ability of my system . Most of my complaints no longer exist .
Was refusing to buy anything new to add to a poorly responsive system and actually started looking at competitors offerings .
I now like WYZE again and have said-so to other users !
I’ve had my hits and misses with Wyze cameras working over the past decade I’ve been with them. With time, they usually get around to fixing the problems. However, I have to agree with the poster here that the new update is working fine for me (as of now) and I like the new update features. Hope it continues to run smooth.
I’m pleased that the POSITIVE POSTINGS are appreciated by many. As I said previously I don’t understand the tags and I’m happy mine were corrected, Thank you.
