Who’s to know it could be a combination of the two, I know that it didn’t work on my old iPhone, which had iOS 18 and it does not work on the new iPhone which has iOS 18, it works fine on the iPad which doesn’t have iOS18 because it’s too old.
Just checking if you have tried the Wyze web browser app on your MacBook? I expect that you have but just in case. It does provide access to the Wyze cams feeds and the Wyze events including searching. I find it quite useful from my MacBook. https://my.wyze.com/
As an fyi, Google has dropped most of functionality for the Nest cams on computers as well. They are focused on smartphones & tablets app. I have Nestcams and have not moved my older Nestcams to their ‘new’ Google Home app because of this loss of functionality.
Judging by your reply l still suspect a setting you are missing on devices on iOS 18. Go through Private Relay and WiFi settings on your iPhone. Apple introduced some interesting and weird security settings in iOS 18.
Woah turning off private worked, all cameras work now! Thanks for the suggestion, that’s really odd and doesn’t make any sense, Wyze must be missing a protocol on their end to interface through that system.
No problem at all, glad it worked for you. For whatever is worth I don’t think it is Wyze issue as my iPhone on iOS 18.2.1 has both Private Relay ON and Private Wi-Fi Address set to Fixed. All my cameras work fine and have been working fine since the day I updated to iOS 18 and Wyze 3.0. I still think that there is a setting on your devices or maybe a setting on your router that doesn’t like Private Wi-Fi Address or Private Relay. As much as I like Apple. I think the ball is in their court on this one.
That might be, but I’ve had it on since it was implemented and this is the only negative app result I’ve had with it. It’s also weird that it only causes issues with this single app on local network and I’ve never had issues with it on any other network.
