My low battery notifications seem to always arrive when I’m sound asleep and wake me up. I want to know the battery is low but I only want to get woken up if there’s an actual event.
Is there a way to get the battery push notification silently but still keep the notification sound for other events?
Look in your phone’s notification settings to confirm but I believe it probably uses the same “wyzenotification” as the other alerts. In which case you have two options:
Have all notifications muted while you’re asleep (can schedule this with an automation).
If you want motion events to wake you up, then you’ll need to use a 3rd party notification manager app which will let you set different sounds based on keywords in the notification.
I’m not sure if there is an option in the app to disable battery alerts completely, that’s another option, but of course then you’d need to check it manually.
I guess if they always arrive while you’re asleep, they’re on a pretty regular cycle, so you could just wait half a day to charge the battery, then they should arrive when you’re awake (essentially trying to change the cycle they’re on).
Well, there are other options I listed if you want to try them. The notification manager apps are quite handy for lots of things and would help you here too.
I agree with the use of third-party apps that can intercept notifications, and that’s a definite benefit of being an Android user. Those most frequently mentioned in the Forum seem to be BuzzKill, MacroDroid, and Tasker. The only one I’ve played with so far is MacroDroid, and it has a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s pretty cool how effective that can be for customizing notifications.
The real solution, I think, should come from Wyze (obviating the need for third-party solutions), particularly with making proper use of Android notification channels, and there’s a Wishlist item that addresses that if you want to vote for it and add your comments:
I’ll take a look at the notification apps.
Nothing else fits the criteria (charging a half day later won’t do it since they last a few months +/- more time than that. It’s just the way luck works out the timing)
