Custom notification sound for doorbell v2 - Android

Is there still no option for a custom notification sound with the v2 doorbell in the android app? How are we in 2025 and this still doesn’t exist?

What you’re asking about has been requested for a long time. Here are a couple of relevant Wishlist topics:

Individual Camera, Sense, Doorbell, AI detection type, etc. Alert Notification Sound and/or Color

Our garage door suddenly opened in the middle of the night. We have push notifications enabled but that alerts for each camera. It would be helpful to have a separate alarm-type sound available for individual cameras. An alarm that you can enable or disable for each camera. Cars drive by all the time so push notifications go off constantly. But if it was a different alarm sound for our garage camera then we could have gotten up and investgated the situation. Thank you!

I’ve voted for both of the above topics, and my personal preference would be to see Wyze tighten up the app and make it work with Android Notification Channels, but I’m not a developer.

Since you’re an Android user, you can use third-party notification interceptors (I’ve seen suggestions for BuzzKill, MacroDroid, and Tasker but have used only MacroDroid myself) to customize device notifications, but I think this is something Wyze should do natively in a way that allows iOS users some customization, too.

You can also enable VoIP (pay attention to the special note for Android users) so that a doorbell button press makes a call to your phone, and I think that’s what a lot of Wyze doorbell users do in order to make those notifications stand out from the other noise/notification overload.

So maybe the saying “If you want something done right, do it yourself” applies here? Still frustrating nonetheless that the solution was me fixing the “issue” myself within Tasker.

I read it. I think you posted in a topic that’s asking for a custom sound from the actual doorbell hardware (though at least one early post in that topic also mentions notifications)—not strictly from the phone notifications—which is why I chose the Wishlist topics that I linked above.
