My friend and I have discovered an issue and we are wondering if anyone had any tips on how to fix this issue or if wyze could create a feature in the app to solve our problem!
The problem is, both of us have multiple wyze cams across our homes and we have had to limit the notification settings in our device settings for the wyze app to show banners only, that way our phones aren’t dinging every time our dogs move around but we can still conveniently see the motion detection notifications when we swipe down without having to fully open the wyze app.
Recently we added wyze doorbells into our wyze collections and we realized that unless we turn the sound notifications back on in our device settings, there’s no way to have a sound alert on just specifically for the wyze doorbell and if we turn it back on then it turns it back on for all devices and drives us crazy because our phones are going off every 2 seconds from a motion detection notification, but we also dont want to have to alter the motion detection sensitivity. Without the sound notifications being on we dont get notified if someone rings the doorbell when we aren’t home.
In the wyze app the notification settings dont have any options to customize how you want your notifications to appear for each device. There’s just an on and off.
It would be extremely handy if wyzes notification settings in the app allowed for us to select a device and choose which notification settings we wanted for that device. That way we can keep our banners on and sound off for the cameras and then the sound on for the doorbells.
I use android and my friend uses IOS, any help is appreciated, thanks!
I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. For Wyze video doorbells, you should be able to enable Virtual Calls in either of two ways:
From your doorbell’s Live Stream screen, tap Settings ➜ Virtual Calls and set that to your preference.
From the Wyze app’s Home screen, tap Account ➜ Notifications ➜ Push Notifications ➜ Virtual Calls and select your chosen options there.
As an Android user, you’ll want to pay attention to the special note to Android users in the relevant Help Center article so that this feature is properly setup as a calling account. With this feature enabled, you should receive an actual phone call whenever someone presses the doorbell button, and I believe this works even if you have other push notifications disabled.
Regarding some of the other stuff you mentioned, there are some existing Wishlist requests that might interest you:
As with any Wishlist topic, you can visit those to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for the product and feature request/suggestions that are important to you.
As an Android user, you can do things like this with a third-party notification manager (e.g., MacroDroid, BuzzKill, Tasker), but I’m not aware of any way for your friend to do the same thing in iOS.
I believe the NBD Filter is intended to address this, but you have to subscribe to Cam Unlimited Pro to have access to that:
