Looking for Users Experiencing SD Card Issues (Cam Pan v3 / v4, Cam v3 / v4)

I don’t know. I just don’t recall ever seeing anything that looked like actual log data in that field when submitting logs from the Wyze app. I have this vague recollection that at some point in the past I might’ve been able to submit a log without entering anything in “Details”—and I think I might’ve commented about that somewhere—but for a long time now I’ve had to enter something there prior to actually submitting a log.

Also, because I prefer typing with a real keyboard, I usually type a brief problem description or issue experience in a note in Google Keep in a desktop browser, then open the Keep app on my phone to copy that text, then paste that into “Details” when submitting a Wyze app log. That may be more cumbersome than what you want to deal with, but I try to include at least something that I think might be useful to the engineers so they know what to look for in the logs they’re receiving.

You’re welcome! :+1:

I hope this is helpful to Wyze and their users, because I’d really like to see a permanent resolution to this microSD problem.

completed all troubleshooting steps. SD card worked for about 30 minutes then returned to say “no video available at this time”

Model Pan v3

SD card : PNY 64GB

No errors in app. SD card was formatted on computer and it started working for about 30 minutes before failing again. This issue started about 6 months ago so yes I would assume after some firmware update.

Oh, I’m sending you a DM. This is irritating as all get-out, and all of this started with a firmware update. NEVER AGAIN!

I had two cameras stop working, and one magically came back online. The other one did not. Here’s the problem child. Both quit recognizing the SD card after the upgrade to the 4.50.16.6242 update. They all use the same SD cards - Sandisk Ultra 32GB I bought in two-packs when I bought the cameras because they were listed as compatible SD cards.

If possible, please also try the following steps and let us know the results:

  1. Remove the SD card, wait about 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Please note whether you hear the “ding-ding” sound.

    1. No ding Sound
  2. If there is no “ding-ding” sound, please check whether the SD card can be read and written normally on a computer.

    1. It can be read and written to normally on TWO computers. Mac and Windows. Works just fine.
  3. If the SD card works normally on a computer, please back up any important data and format the SD card.

    1. Done and Done. Did a long format on a Windows computer just to make sure. FAT format, 32KB block size.
  4. Reinsert the SD card into the camera. If you hear the “ding-ding” sound, please wait at least 1 minute and check whether recording resumes.

    1. No ding. No recording. It sees the SD card but it says it isn’t supported, so it wants to format it. However, the format fails.
  5. If the issue persists after these steps, please submit a device log through the Wyze app. When submitting the log, please note whether you performed the steps above and include the Log ID.

Thank you very much for your time and for helping us improve Wyze products.

Hi,

Have you ever tried deleting/wiping the microSD card and inserting it into the camera without formatting it first? Then format it using the camera itself.

I already mentioned this earlier. For me, it works with a 64 GB microSD card from Amazon Basics.

I have this message popping up constantly, but I don’t use MicroSD cards. If I cancel the message it just pops back up. This has been happening for a long time.

All of them Wyze Cam V4 firmware 4.52.9.6119

Brand: Bliksem Model: TF162. 128GB marked as C10 and A1. I got them off of Amazon.

For all 3 they varried, but the lastest recording on one of them was 3/28, I purchased them on 3/2.

I never saw any error messages, only found out about any issues due to trying to look at recorded footage only for them to say there was none avaliable after selecting SD card in the app.

All 3 of them were placed into read only mode (either my the cam or due to being end of lifecycle), using diskpart I am unable to get them out of read only mode, so I can’t reformat them.

Unsure of if this started at a firmware update or not, though I don’t think so.

For some more info, I got 8 cams all at the same time, and 8 sd cards to go into them. all of the cards the same listed as above. So far I’ve used only 6 cams, so 6 sd cards. I discovered today, after having them for only 2 months, that 3 of the cams were unable to pull up video footage from the sd cards using the app. I took out the sd cards and realized they were all full and in read only mode as if they were dead and activated the protection to save the data that was left on them. The oldest video file on them were all about 3 weeks out after putting them in. Further it seems as if all 3 of these cams will no longer recognize any good sd cards placed into them.

  • MAC address: 80482C2B2908

  • Camera model: Wyze Cam Pan v3

  • Firmware version; 4.50.16.6252

  • SD card brand, model, and capacity. Photos of both sides of the SD card would also be very helpful if possible: SanDisk Extreme PLUS V30 I U3 A2

  • Approximately how long recording runs before stopping: It never records at all.

  • Whether you see any error messages in the app: Yes. “Micro SD card not supported” “micro SD card not available”

  • Whether the SD card has been formatted: The SD card works normally in a computer and can be formatted on a computer. The SD card also works normally in my cam v2

  • Whether this started after a firmware update: The SD card did not work before and still didn’t work after updating the firmware
