Why am I now supposed to log in to the wyze app every time I need to look at a camera? Never used to be that way.
That means you have some kind of setting preventing it from saving the login information. This may be an app that automatically clears the app’s cache (SD Maid is one popular example), or your main browser is set to clear the cache or data or cookies for privacy protection (I believe the Wyze app leverages some Custom Chrome Tabs functionality within it, so this could be the reason), there could be other things like battery optimization or data saver modes that can interfere with how apps store session data. There could be shared preferences settings that interfere with storing login sessions (they might clear them or not save them properly), enhanced security settings on your device might force this.
As a reference, this isn’t happening to everyone. I rarely ever have to login, and I open my Wyze app many times per day. It is something locally happening on your device to remove stored login session settings. The above are the most common issues, but it’s hard to know remotely what your particular interference cause is. I can only confirm that it is possible to not have to constantly login to the Wyze app.
In my experience, this hasn’t been the case. I routinely use mobile browsers like Firefox Focus, which does this, and I haven’t had any difficulty maintaining my Wyze app login on a device where I have such a browser set as the default, so I have no reason to believe that the app relies on a browser’s cache to store a persistent authorization token.
I do, however, wonder about things like VPNs triggering a re-authorization request, and I’d consider adding something like that to the list of potential causes for @stljerry’s problem.
Also, welcome to the Forum, @stljerry!
Thanks, I forgot VPN’s as a primary example. I knew I was missing one, but it wasn’t coming to mind
