Lock is saying its jammed

Tried numeros fixes. Delete lock and reinstalled, made the door holw larger. Lock still registers as jammed when door is oepned.

Any ideas for a fix or is the lock dead?

Does it say jammed or “ajar” when it is open?

During calibration, open is supposed to be set when the door is all the way open, and then for ajar I set the door just barely cracked open as if someone forgot to fully pull it closed (ie:door is still touching the surrounding doorway).

Jammed should mean that there is too much friction on the deadbolt for it it easily lock or unlock with the motor. This usually happens when the door hinges start to slip and bend because of gravity. There are a few ways to resolve that depending on certain variables. May need to reset or shim the hinges, use longer screws, fill in the holes so they hold again, bend the hinges straight, fix a warped door, etc. Sounds like you tried adjusting the strike plate already.

You can try replacing the batteries with fresh alkaline batteries (rechargeables don’t give sufficient voltage)

There is a chance that prolonged friction before attempting to fix it may have already burnt out the motor on the lock though if it was already misaligned and kept trying to open or close with the full weight of the door causing too much stress. If that’s the case, then it may mostly be considered dead.

It just depends on the reason it says it is jammed.
