Location trigger in 2.23 Beta

@spamoni Could you submit a firmware log and the bulb name? We’ll look into it.

Bulb Name is FR Bulb 2

I sent a log in earlier on the Facial Recognition issue, will that work? Log # is: 262184

Or do you want me to send another one in now?

Did you send a firmware log that followed this flow?

In the last step, you should select the bulbs which will upload the firmware log.

Nope… will do it now…

Note, this occurred sometime around 6 PM Eastern Time. I will do the process now.

EDIT

@qsun - Completed

My lights go on automatically at 4:30 pm. Today between 6 and 6:30, light went off and then back on immediately. This has been happening for a few weeks now.

Log Number is: 262869

Not to get too far ahead but would location triggers be made available in IFTTT (yes someone still uses IFTTT. I’d love to have Wyze fill in the hole left by Life360 no longer supporting IFTTT.

Wyze actions are available in IFTT and can be executed with Location triggers.

I have just been added to the whitelist for the new rule engine, thank you @QiS. I don’t see the location based rule options yet. Do I have to wait some time? Using both iOS and Android beta apps.

Let me be more clear; assuming location triggers eventually allow me to set up a rule in the Wyze app that runs when everyone leaves the house, what I then want to do in IFTTT is have something like "IF Wyze says everyone has left the house, THEN do blah blah blah. I don’t see that this is currently possible in IFTTT. The closest I think I can come is to have a trigger in Wyze the turns on/off a Wyze plug when everyone leaves, then in IFTTT I could use the plug status to trigger the IF. Again, I’m mainly looking for a replacement to what used to be possible with Life360 and IFTTT.

Did you try to kill your Wyze app and open it again?

Hi @peterhaag01 Thank you for your feedback. From your message, I saw these requirements,

  1. Multiple members supporting in location trigger, which is already in our roadmap.
  2. Wyze location trigger events in IFTTT. I’m not sure whether IFTTT supports this feature, and I’ll read their docs.

These are the only Wyze options available on IFTTT that can be used as the “IF” part of the if/then:

If that image doesn’t upload here is the text of the “IF” options available for Wyze:

  • Motion is detected: This trigger fires when a Wyze Cam detects motion. The minimum firmware version required is v3.9.3.62 for v1 and v4.9.1.60 for v2.
  • Sound is detected: This trigger fires when a Wyze Cam detects sound. The minimum firmware version required is v3.9.3.62 for v1 and v4.9.1.60 for v2.
  • Smoke alarm is detected: This trigger fires when a Wyze Cam detects a smoke alarm. The minimum firmware version required is v3.9.3.62 for v1 and v4.9.1.60 for v2.
  • CO alarm is detected: This trigger fires when a Wyze Cam detects a CO alarm. The minimum firmware version required is v3.9.3.62 for v1 and v4.9.1.60 for v2.
  • Contact Sensor opens: This trigger fires when a Contact Sensor opens.
  • Contact Sensor closes: This trigger fires when a Contact Sensor closes.
  • Motion Sensor detects motion: This trigger fires when a Motion Sensor detects motion.
  • Motion Sensor becomes clear: This trigger fires when a Motion Sensor becomes clear.
  • Bulb Turns off: This trigger fires when a Wyze Bulb is turned off.
  • Bulb Turns on: This trigger fires when a Wyze Bulb is turned on.
  • Plug Turns on: This trigger fires when a Wyze Plug is turned on.
  • Plug Turns off: This trigger fires when a Wyze Plug is turned off.
  • Low battery is detected: This trigger fires when a Wyze Cam Outdoor detects a low battery status.

What I want to do is:

IF: Wyze says everyone has left home…
THEN: do TBD stuff…

I’d also want:
IF: Wyze says anyone comes home…
THEN: do TBD stuff…

I realize I’m asking for more features when you’ve just released the location triggers, but I just wanted to get this on your radar. Hopefully the image I uploaded works, I’ve never tried to do that before in these forums.

I have, yes. I expect I’d find it in the rules area of the app? I only have the options shown in pic.

Yes, the rules area of the app. Are you running beta Android 2.23.16?

Yep. Definitely the latest version. I’ve wondered if the issue is because I live in New Zealand & it is only USA based? @QiS

NZ could be a problem for location-based features during limited beta. qsun should have the answer to that, but may not be back until after the weekend. Just to eliminate anomalies, you can try restarting your phone.

Yeah. Restarted, reloaded app completely. Will wait for feedback. I’d really like this feature as I use it a lot via ifttt.

I’m on beta with the latest version

Hi @jstrcich What’s your app version? Could you submit a log?

Hi @stuold I think that may be the problem. Our address is currently restricted to the U.S. Could you please submit a log? We’ll look into it.
