Live View won't connect to wifi

Yeah it was reported that XFinity XB7 or XB8 Gateway was causing some sort of firewall issue with the Wyze cameras. That is interesting to know that it seems to affect V3 cameras only.

For reference to others trying to fix this issue, you can try changing some settings on the XFinity Gateway by going on 10.0.0.1. Under Firewall > IP4 > select “Minimum Security (Low)” first and test if that works. If that still doesn’t work then select “Custom Security” and disable it completely. If it works then you will need to start looking into getting your own router as it isn’t recommended to run without router firewall.

Thanks a lot. I will try changing the security options and get back to this group. Thanks for the suggestion about own router for security. I already have the Google Mesh router. I hope that should suffice. I do not connect to the Xfinity Gateway directly for wifi.

Hi,
My problem seems to have cleared up 99% of the time. Every once in a while I’ll have difficulty viewing livestream, but it seems to clear itself up after a few minutes. I do still use Xfinity, so I"m guessing that the problem is with that.

Best Regards,
Brenda

My live view seamed to have been fixed as well since I upgraded my router. I can view with no issues.

However when using my iPhone while out and about I cannot. It struggles to connect. I have to initiate a restart of the camera in order for live view to work while on my data plan.

I ran into the same problem after switching to Xfinity. I got an XB8 gateway. However, the issue for not being able to connect to Wyze cameras while I was away from home remained on and off after both advanced security and firewall were turned off from the gateway and the Xfinity app. I finally got an ASUS wifi router and switched the XB8 gateway to the bridge mode, then the connection issue was resolved.

What model? Asus routers aren’t inexpensive though.
