Product R&D and website function are two different efforts. Wyze has proven itself competent with products. Every company has website issues.
As long as the IT department isn’t designing products, we’re good.

Will continuous recording be a future possibility on this via firmware update?
Trying to order, keep getting 503 backend error.
If anyone’s curious I ended up checking out with PayPal, took maybe 20 tries/refreshes/fails/500 error message to get to the cart, 10-15 more to get to a check out page that loaded shipping, credit card failed 5 times, changed to PayPal, failed about 5, may card was charged and got to a URL: https://wyze.com/checkout/onepage/success/ but got the 500 message. Hopefully it all worked
I want to find this out on the AMA today. If not I’m not sure I’m gonna but as many as I was originally going to…
Battery power only? Sorry - screw that. If I’m putting a camera outdoors it’ll be mounted in a location that’s not easy to get to so someone can’t easily rip it off or damage it. I don’t want something that I’ll need a ladder to get to every 3 - 6 months. And if WYZE is like every other company 3 - 6 months really means 1 - 3 months. I don’t currently have any WYZE cameras, but I’ve heard nothing good about their indoor cameras. I figured this new release was going to be an outdoor camera. So I’ve waited. But I just don’t see myself dealing with batteries constantly. I’m sure it will work for many others and best of luck to you.
Same. I also got an email from Amazon saying that they’re waiting for Wyze to process the order.
I guess I’ll wait and see if I get an order conf from Wyze. It hasn’t shown up in my Wyze recent orders yet…
If I had to guess, no. It would consume too much battery and would be dead in ~2 days
Wyze said you can plug it in but they “don’t recommend it”
Disappointed that the Wyze Cam Outdoor is using 850nm IR LEDs (which produce a faint red glow). Would have preferred the 940nm IR LEDs as used in the Wyze Cam Pan. The outside IR lights I use are also 940nm. The glow of 850nm IR LEDs is also why I avoided getting the Wyze Cam v2 and stuck with the Wyze Cam Pan.
Still, congratulations on the release! Ordered to support and try it out.
But you could plug it in…
Paid with Paypal. I got charged proper amount but my orders page shows 4 orders! I only want one. Hopefully I can cancel the other 3 that show up in my orders and not get charged later 3x.
I love their indoor cameras. I’m at work right now and able to check on my new ducklings while they’re home alone.
I wouldn’t say anything to Wyze… if you only were charged for 1 now your get 3 free! Lol
Be patient and keep refreshing, you’ll prob get lots of errors. I’m sure 1000s of people are hitting their servers right now
I’ve been waiting for two years, and I’m disappointed. This is tailored for a completely different customer set than me. It makes me sad.
“Write continuously to an sd-card” - This is not the wyze cam for you.
– This is the main reason I use wyze cams
“Always have it plugged in” - This is not the wyze cam for you.
– I do not want to be getting on a tall ladder in the middle of winter to recharge my battery.
– I have power everwhere I want these, even up high where I need the ladder.
“Use normal wifi” - This is not the wyze cam for you
– Just like power, I have wifi covering everything.
And yet another router/dock/non-wifi thing I have to plug in.
First the sensors, then the lock, now the outdoor cam. Will the doorbell need yet another router/dock/base station that is incompatible with all the other wyze things, as well as the rest of the worlds standards?
I feel like they looked at me and my use case and literally said “No, your bird house things are good enough. We’re designing this for this other group of people.”
Finally got order processed, lots of refreshing and re-tries. Good luck everyone.
I would think they’d have anticipated a spike in orders and set up AWS to expand the server base to cover the spike.
Got my order confirmed and email from Wyze confirming order. Just be patient. You will get through.
No. It uses zigbee and bluetooth, not wifi

Probably not
