I have voted on “both sides”. Wyze essentially promised promised RTSP so they should deliver. AND buyers will just have to be patient because it was not a feature as shipped. As with the V2s and everything besides the vacuum and WCO, these items are just too cheap to complain about.
I support Wyze in their efforts overall. I really want this company to grow into something unique and true to their founding principles. The RTSP branch they generously provided for the V2 cams is what makes them stand out among their competition. I patiently waited for the availability of the V3 camera for months, so I’m emotionally invested. It’s just been a real bummer to find that I’ve got another wait ahead of me with two brand new V3 cams sitting in boxes. Perhaps, I’ll just stack them on top of the V2 cams so I can still get the local network feed. Just kidding, of course.
I am so grateful to have a community of supporters with access to the company’s ear. Let’s hope this discussion veers more fruitful.
That’s probably true. And like I said earlier, with the extra memory space available on the V3 they should have been able to put it in their standard build rather than making us flash a non-standard beta setup.
Yea but rebranding products doesn’t require any programmers. What makes you think wyze has programmers? I wouldn’t be surprised if everything accomplished so far wasn’t outsourced to freelance coders.
Just to kick the dust off of this thread, anyone see that Eufy had a breach that resulted in strangers being able to access accounts and see live and recorded videos and control pan and tilt.
Why would anyone want to have rtsp access to their cameras instead of using some random cloud service?
Hey Wyze Devs -
Now’s your chance to make some tech news by announcing RTSP support for the V3s. Hell, I’ll even maintain my “plus” subscription in exchange for the option…
