Hi, I live in a place where I really can’t drill holes into the house. So, if I mount the camera with command strips (the big ones), will it be able to support it? Also, should I use 2 strips or 1 strip?
Yeah, you’ll probably be fine. I use the velcro command strips to mount my V3’s and V3 Pros, and they’re heavier. I’m sure the double-sided command tape is fine too since it’s using the same adhesive.
Technically, what I do is I put the velcro command strips on the metal disk and mount that to the wall or ceiling, then I use the camera magnet to hang on the metal disk, but it’s the same thing, the command strips hold the weight of the V3 and V3 Pro cameras really well, so IMO you’ll definitely be fine with a lighter OG camera. Just make sure to press the command strip firmly onto it.
I also use double-sided tape off of Temu to mount other heavier things just fine.
Keep in mind that it partially depends on the other surface you’re trying to mount it to. If the surface is really dirty or gets a lot of water on it, or is a weird texture to where the command strip doesn’t stick to it very well, things like that, it might not work well for your situation. Maybe clean the area with alcohol wipes, let it dry well then press it in place very firmly.
Good to take note on, thanks
