We made the adjustment around June or early July, I believe. It was pretty close to when this post was made.

Using a scrap of 1/8" thick PVC from Tap Plastic. I fixed the adhesive problem with the magnet portion of the contact sensor. Similar ones could be obtained online.
I have these and hands down, they are the best solution for permanent mounting
Do it. They are great.
I found the backing on the adhesive strips to be really difficult to remove. So far a couple of them have had the adhesive partially or fully come off with the covering. It could definitely be improved. Otherwise they seem great so far.
This is a late contribution to the thread, but – yeah.
I had problems the first day. I had a BUNCH of problems 20 to 45 days later. And now half a year in, all the various adhesives and foam sticky approaches I’ve tried on either the magnet side or the sensor side have all demonstrated themselves to be inadequate. Things fall off. Maybe it’s heat. Maybe it’s cold. Maybe it’s dry. Maybe it’s wet. Maybe the door opens and closes too often and things SHAKE off. Maybe the location is just so remote we don’t notice when one side jumps off the wall, attaches itself to the other side, and a window opens and closes without ever triggering an alert.
I just got to walk around about once a week and see what sort of (temporary) repairs need to happen…
Has anybody else had the sensor side unit drop off the adhesive and mounting location, fall to a hard surface, break open, spit out the disc battery, and see it roll away under far distant furniture? That’s what they call a “bonding” experience. Emotional bonding. Obviously we’re NOT talking about being physically attached to the door.
I see these plastic bits are something custom made on a 3D printer. (revised reply) Good idea.
Not a solution for my use, but a good idea anyhow.
Can you add two small tiny handles on each side? The ‘handle’" [ ] on each side would be wide enough for a nylon tie to pass thru. I can’t screw to a wire fence but I could use this if there was easy way to attach to wire cloth fence # .
Thanks,
Bob
