How to assign Cam Plus licenses to cameras?

I have 3 Wyze cameras, and can view them all OK on the Android app.

I also have 3 Cam Plus subscriptions (paid). One of them is assigned to one of the cameras, but I can’t figure out how to assign the other 2 licenses to cameras.

In the Android app, if I go to Account It says “(!) 2 Licenses Available. Tap to assign.”. If I tap that it goes to “Services” where it shows all 3 licenses, one assigned to a camera and the other 2 “Unassigned License”. If I tap on either “Unassigned License”, it lists “Available Devices” and under there is only one option - “Unassigned” with a checkmark next to it. Clicking that does nothing.

If I click the “Manage” button on the Services page, it says “Web licenses can’t be managed in the Wyze app. Please visit the Wyze website to manage your subscription.” How do I do that? Can’t find it.

Do you have the two other cams assigned to any other licenses currently? Like Cam Plus Lite? Check that tab. If they are assigned, unassign them from the other licenses first. You can’t assign them to a new license if they are on something else.

Are either of the other two cams still on a trial period license?

If you can post a screenshot of the CamPlus license page, a visual reference might help.

If none of this applies, we can go to the next step by clearing the cache and logging out before restarting and trying again.

To assign a camera to Cam Plus you will need to use the App.

  • Start the App and go to the Account Tab
  • Tap on Services
  • Make sure Cam Plus is selected in the Top Menu
  • Scroll down the Cam Plus list until you see UnAssigned and tap on it
  • you should see a list of available devices, tap on the one you want o assign. That is all you have to do

No, I don’t:

No.

See above. Also, this is what I get when I click on either of the “Unassigned License” cameras:

And this is what I get when I click “Manage” in Services:

Please suggest something!

I tried that. As mentioned above, It just gives one option - “Unassigned” with a checkmark next to it. Clicking that does nothing.

See screenshots in my reply above.

Sorry about that. As @SlabSlayer was indicating, if the app thinks the cameras are already a part of cam Plus, then it may not show up in the list of available cameras.

One thing you could try is clearing the Cache from within the app, located under Account App settings may be beneficial. Then I would Logout of the app.

On Android, include the following:

  • Long press on the App
  • Select App info
  • Tap on Force Stop
  • Select Storage and Cache
  • Clear Cache here as well

Restart your device and logon again. Note: your thumbnails for cameras will be gone, they will come back when you live stream again. Also, in order to logon make sure you know your logon info and 2FA if used.

So, the next thing I would do is to clear the cache. Account>App Settings>Cache File Size… Clear.

Then fully log out of the app and log back in

Thanks. I did clear the cache, signed out, signed back in.

It’s exactly the same.

(I can still view all 3 cameras.)

Dave, not sure why it’s not working as it should. Did you clear the Android cache as @spamoni suggested after logging out?

If the cams are visible and not on any other license, they should be able to be assigned to the two open cams.

If you unassign the first one and pull it off, then click unassigned on the first license, do all three cams appear to assign or just the one?

I am going out driving for a bit, so @spamoni can probably assist. He is more versed in this than I anyhow.

Good luck!

No more than you…

I should add (maybe relevant):

  • One of the 2 cameras I can’t assign isn’t mine - it’s shared with me by another account (the one called “Vista1” in the screenshots above).

  • When I go Account>Firmware Update, it only shows 1 of the 3 cameras (the only one that I was able to successfully assign a CamPlus license, “Atkinson”)

  • When I go into Accounts>Sharing there is no choice about which camera to share (not sure if there is supposed to be).

  • One of the cameras I can’t assign to CamPlus is a Wyze Cam Pan (1st generation); the other is a v3.

  • If I go Account>Services>CamPlus and click on the Atkinson camera (the one that’s on CamPlus), I get a chooser that lets me select “Atkinson” or “Unassigned”. If I choose “Unassigned”, then all 3 licenses are Unassigned, and choosing any of the 3 offers me again the choice of “Atkinson” or “Unassigned”. Once I’ve assigned 1 of the 3 licenses to “Atkinson”, then the other 2 licenses can only be assigned “Unassigned”.

  • I THINK THIS MAY BE WHAT IS GOING ON - I just noticed that the other camera I can’t assign says it’s shared with me by another user (in addition to the one I knew was shared). I suspect that other user re-paired the camera with their own account without telling me (they probably had to, to change WiFi networks…)

I already paid for 3 CamPlus licenses. Can I not use 2 of them?

I don’t know if this is helpful.

You cannot apply your Cam Plus to Shared Cameras

You can use the Cam Plus on cameras which are part of your account. So if you purchased additional Cameras you could use them.

When you go into Settings of Each Camera, what do they look like? Can you do a screen shot of each and share it?

See below. The first one is the camera on CamPlus, the second on is one of the 2 I can’t get on CamPlus (the other looks about the same).

I think the problem is Sharing.

Yea, that is why I wanted to see the setting screen. Shared cameras will not have additional options as you see in the first image.

You cannot assign a Cam Plus License to a Shared Camera, that is the issue.
