Home Monitoring Sense Hub & Keypad - Chime when Doors/Windows are opened

Please add this feature to the Chime. This is very important to me for fully switching to Wyze.

@Seapup yes! Separate from the phone notification. This needs to be an audible sound from the hub when a sensor is ā€œopenedā€. As you can see, every user with kids finds this feature invaluable! Itā€™s the only reason we have a system tbh :relaxed: (Coming over from SimpliSafe)

Why is there no comment from Wyze support regarding this?

Welcome to the Wyze forum Rich. I believe itā€™s been implemented in beta app and hub firmware and currently undergoing beta testing.

I am a part of the beta program and I do not see an option for the audible announcements via the hub.

Itā€™s not an announcement per se, itā€™s a tone and labeled ā€œTuneā€ in HMS settings for the Hub in the beta app. Please check the following:

Need for the keypad to chime with the hub. This has been mentioned, but I also would really like for the keypad in my bedroom to confirm that the house is armed when I activate ā€œhomeā€ from the app. Lastlyā€¦I would like Alexa integration to arm the house. Use caseā€¦Alexa arm (name of home in Wyze home monitoring app). Keypad in bedroom confirms that ā€œhomeā€ is armed.

I wish I could have the Wyze sense hub announce when a sensor opens.

Mine started doing this today after a firmware update, and really freaked the wife out. I did a firmware update this morning, didnā€™t think anything of it. Then the wife messages me about hearing some strange beep every now and then around the house. Thinking it was a dead battery or something.

Turns out every time she opened a door with a sensor, the hub beeped lol.

So glad to finally have this. It appears from the app that you may be able to have multiple destinations for the chime. Does that mean I can add the chimes for the doorbell in other rooms? Itā€™s a big house and I canā€™t hear the hub from the bedroom.

Interesting. Ours is unchanged since the update.

Ours is version 4.32.4.295 on app version 2.23.12

Under HMS Settings, we have ā€œTune Settingsā€. Thatā€™s where the chime is located.

Funny. ā€œTune Settingsā€ shows up when I open HMS and then disappears.

Iā€™m up to date and Iā€™m at 4.32.3.183. Are you on a beta version?

Iā€™m still on Hub version 4.32.3.183 and app version 2.22.21 and thereā€™s no update available for me yet. Iā€™m really looking forward to the addition of a chime with the door/window sensors!

Good observation. :grinning: Based on the beta app, it appears that Wyze is planning for multiple destinations, but I havenā€™t heard any word of whatā€™s in store for us. My hub is centrally located on a middle floor, so I canā€™t hear the chime from 1st or 3rd levels either. I have faith that an solution is in the works. :+1:

jschulman is running beta app and beta HMS firmware. If you are considering jumping to beta, keep in mind that the purpose of beta is to assist Wyze in uncovering and reporting bugs before software and firmware enhancements are released to public production. That means you will most likely encounter issuesā€¦ some minor and some major. If your HMS system is monitored and you are relying on HMS for security, you may wish to reconsider.

Yes, all Beta. 20+ years IT Engineer so I run a lot of beta apps and have always been an early adopter of new tech.

68 Wyze devices in our house  and waiting on about another 20 to ship still.

I was thinking of buying a few chimes to spread around the house, but I wasnā€™t sure if the chimes would actually work with the home monitoring door chime without the doorbell. That is one of the few parts I have a Nest/Google Hello doorbell instead. Mostly because it works great and the doorbell has been out of stock for forever.

Yep, same version as you. When I go into HMS, it shows ā€œTune Settingsā€ underneath ā€œHub Settingsā€ but quickly disappears. Very odd.

I got an email today with the announcement. The chime is include in the new features. Firmware for the hub must be updated to 0.0.0.63 and plugin version 2.9.0.21

The sound is funny, but it works.

No option to add the keypad to the sound devices, and I donā€™t have a chime to test if they can be included as sound devices. If so, I will be ordering at least one.

I can save you the trouble, the only device that can be selected in the ā€œSound Output Devicesā€ under the ā€œTune Settingsā€ menu is the Wyze Sense Hub. I have two keypads as well as a Wyze Chime that goes with my Wyze Doorbell. At the time of this post, you cannot select a keypad or chime as a sound output option.

I donā€™t care for the ā€œchimeā€ that was chosen, I think they should give some options, similar to how you have options with the Wyze Chime. A single ā€œchimeā€ is easy to miss or question if you actually heard it. Without being able to select a different device to play the chime, or even multiple devices, the feature is still lacking in my eyes.

I think they should also play the chime in all keypads (or give you the option to), as well as give you an option to add the Wyze Chime if you also own one of those. I can possibly see where there could be technical difficulties adding the Wyze Chime to the Wyze Hub if you already have your doorbell connected; for that Iā€™d be willing to buy a 2nd Chime to achieve this.
