Home Monitoring Sense Hub & Keypad - Chime when Doors/Windows are opened

IOS 14.6 works fine for routines announcing a door opening.

I shifted from xfinity security and thought the door opening Chim is standard but if this feature is not updated I would need to seriously consider changing, I have small kids and opening the doors and duration a door is opened for gives a clear idea where kids are, WYZE needs to add this function ASAP or itā€™s some thing to reconsider given the security system was purchased as I have kids

Can we get a response from Wyze Support?
I feel stuck, as Iā€™ve already purchased and installed this, but am still using and paying for my old system as well, due to Wyze Monitoring not having this simple feature.

Support recommended I post here in the Wishlistā€¦ @UserCustomerGwen can you let us know if this feature request is on your radar?

Iā€™m also just dumbfounded on the lack of response from Wyze on this. Itā€™s literally a basic safety function that is a standard on all security systems. Perhaps Wyze launched too many new products and canā€™t support them?

I disconnected my system and put my old system back. I had other issues with reliability, and the fact Wyze canā€™t even respond to something as simply as this, doesnā€™t give me a lot of confidence theyā€™ll address other issues on a product that provides security and safety for my family.

This is the main reason I purchased this system so that when a door was open I would be notified by the hub, not by a notification on my phone. This is a basic feature of every security system. Please enable or fix this issue. I am a huge advocate of Wyze products, cameras, door bell, now monitoring. This is the first product that has not met expectations. I totally understand you sell your products cheaper than competitors so we will pay monthly fees, but donā€™t cut corners on the quality of the products.

I believe support suggested you post to the #wishlist to show your interest in this idea.
No plans have been announced for this yet.

You can also have echo dot announce the door open, etc.

How? I tried but not workingā€¦do you need to subscribe to additional service from Amazon?

You can do this through Alexa routines. The sensors should show up as triggers. If not, make sure your Wyze account is linked then ask Alexa to ā€œdiscover devicesā€.

From others :

Go to the Alexa app and select devices at the bottom. Then scroll across all the device icons at the top of that screen. Open all devices. Look in the three sections for the new sensor. If it has a green/blue dot under it and its near the top, Alexa does not quite see it yet. You need to select it on that list and open it. Then when closed it moves does to the available fully ready devices.

Also

When you add an action, scroll down to ā€œmessagingā€, select it and there are only two options, one of which is ā€œSend Announcement.ā€ Select that option, type in your message and then next, which as I recall, gives you the option to select which echo devices are to receive the announcement.

I have it set up this way and it does work but there is a noticeable delay AND I really donā€™t want to have to have another device (echo dot) sitting on my counter - the ā€˜chimeā€™ for my wyze sense system is literally the only reason I plug that Dot in.
Phone alerts are not useful to me unless Iā€™m away from home; I get way too may phone notifications as is.

I believe Google has this feature on its home security system. Sempli safe has it as well. When a door or window opens it has a chime. This is helpful so we know if someone opened the door when we are home. This is very helpful with kids as they may open the door but we donā€™t want them to leave.

I can confirm both of these systems have the chime.
Iā€™m frustrated that I activated my year of Wyze Monitoring in April, and am still not using it, since it doesnā€™t have this feature.

My system arrived today with an extra keypad and motion sensor and additional sensorsā€¦removed my SimpliSafe systemā€¦installed the Wyze systemā€¦I thought maybe the sensor open chime was hidden in settings somewhereā€¦NOPE! No sensor open chime?! Really?! Unbelievableā€¦really disappointing.

Right now I was able to connect the chime through Alexa, itā€™s a way around but hopefully they add this feature soon into the hub dono if it is a software or hardware issue but hopefully they resolve it!!!

Seems pretty straight forward that the hardware and software would both support it without issue.
Hardware wise, thereā€™s already plenty of audio output capabilities with the system, as it can speak have an actual alarm sound.
Software wide, the logic is already in the code base, as the system knows when doors/windows are opened. Without that code already in place, the system would do nothing when armed and a door was kicked in.

YES! please make this happen. Iā€™m going to switch back to my SimpliSafe System if this is not implemented. This feature is a deal breaker for me for the same reason (having little kids walk out of the house without knowing)
