How do you do it? I have tried connecting power to the 2 screw terminals on the back, but that doesn’t work. Do i need to use the usb port?
Did the old legacy doorbell work? Did you adjust the wiring in the legacy chime correctly? See here for instructions. What’s the output of your transformer?
I’d go through the wired instructions from the link above from the beginning to make sure everything is installed correctly.
The old doorbell worked fine, it was just one door. There is a sticker on the back of the wyze that says “5 v adapter only”. I checked with a vom, the doorbell wires were showing 12 vac. I got an old wall wart, cut off the plug, it was giving something like 5.2 vdc so i connected that. That did not charge the battery. I have a proper usb cable, problem is trying to get the plug into the back of the wyze and get it into position on the mounting plate.
The 5 v applies to the USB connection on the back, and if your using the terminal posts, they need the other listed voltage as 10-24v ac, 10va.
I tried to use the transformer wires, it caused a faint hum from the transformer.
Omgit … thanks for your help. Problem was i had not installed the jumper wire on the xfmr.
On the chime?
Thanks for the update, glad you got it working!
