So maybe it should have it, but looks like Lifehacker points out that the OG doesnt tag events on the timeline like other cameras with the new UI.
If the time code link doesn’t work, scoot to about 6:12 and play.
I dont have cloud recording enabled normally on my OGs, but when i did enable it, cloud events didnt show on my OG’s in the new timeline view. My V4s all did though:
I do recall some type of event markers or tags in the vertical timeline when using an SD card. Thats how I was able to scroll through to determine when my feral cat entered his cathouse to eat. Not sure what happened to it. You all have been a great resource thank you so much for your assistance. I’m still waiting to hear from the Wyze Support team. At this point I have attempted to do just about everything I can to change configurations and even resetting the camera to manufacturer settings in effort to get the tags back.
It’s also possible that I’m operating with a different definition of “cloud events”. I tend to think of those as events uploaded to Wyze servers and analyzed for AI-enabled detection of specific things (persons, pets, etc.) for subscribers, not the generic sound and motion events that I see in my timeline as a non-subscriber.
Here’s what I see currently in the v3.1.5.569 Android app:
I would swear that I was seeing something different when I would pull out my phone to check things earlier in this discussion, and I can confirm that I updated the app on this phone from v3.0.5.558 to v3.1.5.569 just this morning, so while I agree with @virgietucker31 that something has changed, I’m now thinking that it might be an app change (or a server change) and not a firmware change, but I still don’t know. I’m leaning toward app, somewhere between the v3x versions I mentioned, because this is what I see when I pull up the same view in the v2.50.9.512 Android app:
The tags are there in previous app versions. I can’t speak to v3.1.0.564 because I never installed that one, but I sincerely believe that the tags were there in v3.0.5.558.
I don’t think the LifeHackster video is an apples-to-apples comparison, because I don’t know what app version he was using, and it also appeared that he was doing event (not continuous) recording to microSD, so I don’t know how that might affect tagging (though I wouldn’t expect it to). Nevertheless, I saved it to watch the whole thing later because I ordered another Cam OG and a Cam OG Telephoto just a few days ago.
Edit[1]: I thought showing the screenshots side-by-side might be useful, and I also wanted to add that I’m seeing the same thing (event tags visible in the timeline in the v2.50.9.512 app but not present in the timeline in the v3.1.5.569 app) on a Cam OG with firmware v1.0.84 (my previous testing was on a Cam OG with firmware v1.0.80).
Hello. Since the last update I have no icons to mark events on the sd card timeline. How do I get these back? My notification settings haven’t changed. I’m having to watch hours of video to find events. I have OG cameras. Thanks in advance.
[Mod Note]:Your topic was merged to this topic for better visibility and consistency in grouping similar issues.
I can confirm that I have the exact same problem in all my cameras.
I have 2 OG and they are missing the event icons on the SD card timeline.

So now you’re reporting that it’s broken with Cam Pan v3, as well? I haven’t yet updated to the v3.2x app and I’m still seeing the event tags in the microSD timeline on my Cam Pan v3s (but not Cam OGs) in the v3.1.5 app. Are they breaking this feature on more camera models with successive versions of the app?
Is Wyze working on getting this feature back? It defeats the purpose of the cameras if we can’t find events and wastes too much time even if we do find them.
I have no idea. At this point, I know that it’s been noted in the announcement topic for the v3.1.5 app where it seemed to break, and I’ll check the v3.2 app announcement topic to see if it’s been noted there since the issue apparently persists in the latest app version. Are you using the v3.2 app? I haven’t yet updated, but I do see it on v3.1.5.
Until Wyze fixes this (and I imagine they will in a future app update), you can still use the Events tab and/or the RECENT EVENTS section of Cam OG’s Live Stream screen to find tagged events, but I really like the convenience of seeing the tagged event markers in the continuous microSD recording timeline and want to see that feature fixed.
Thank you for your insights. I hope they fix this asap. The problem with the Event and Recent Events tabs is that events drop off after about 4 hours, unless I’m missing a trick to that.
On the individual cameras it will only show you like 10 events. If you go to the events tab you can see them all. When you get to the bottom, just scroll up again and it will load more events. You can change the day at the top, filter to specific cams, etc.
