I added the contact entry sensors to google assistant on my nest but they all display 0% open/closed and don’t have any actions for the google home automation.
are the sense commands for V2 contact sensors not a thing anymore for google nest control?
The contact sensors cannot be used in Google Home. You can only manipulate the wall switches, lights, lock, and cameras (but only to view, person detection doesn’t come through).
I’m probably missing some things. Alexa is much friendlier to the Wyze EcoSystem than Google.
How I made it work…
Hello! I can get my WYZE contacts to show up in Google Home but they do not reliably update their status so I can’t trigger non-WYZE things like Lutron Caseta lights.
My work around is as follows:
:: The outdoor plug seems to reliably report its status to Google Home.
:: Write an automation in WYZE that turns on one of the outdoor outlets for 1-minute when the door contacts separate.
:: Use the WYZE outdoor plug change of state to trigger a Google Home script automation to turn on the Lutron lights.
That’s been working reliably for several weeks.
