Getting charged during 12 month free cam plus period

I bought a wyze doorbell cam v1 awhile back that comes with a 12 month free subscription to cam plus. I installed it and activated the free trial 12/23. They started charging my credit card $2.99/month for the subscription 8/24. So I only got 7 months free. I’ve tried contacting customer service via chat but they were very unresponsive, like not responding for 25+ minutes, so I gave up. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so did you have success getting it resolved?

Welcome to the forum @Kikaimo

Support is going to be your best bet unfortunately in this situation.

I know they have resolved occurrences of such in the past with proper documentation or codes.

Try the email route instead. Then you are never holding, you just check back and respond on your own time. I LOVE the email method for that and have been really satisfied.

This is my preference, as well. I just wish they’d make it easier to initiate this process. (I miss the full-page form.)

Do you have the email address? I couldn’t find it listed under contacts.

I haven’t had much luck with direct e-mail, because even when I’ve tried to use a publicly-posted e-mail address that’s supposedly for contacting support, it bounces back with an “unmonitored” message, so this is what I would do:

  1. Visit the Help Center: https://support.wyze.com/
  2. Click into the AI-powered search box and enter create ticket.
  3. Click Yes, that is correct.
  4. Repeat Step #3. (UGH! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:)
  5. Click No, I do not like chatbots.
  6. Click This is about a subscription.
  7. Click My Cam Plus subscription.
  8. Click Create Ticket
  9. Enter your contact details.

That opens a ticket and generates an e-mail message to you. Then you can add more detail to your e-mail reply.

I hope they bring back the full-page form at some point. This is mildly infuriating.

You have to initiate it on the support site first.

Go here:
https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us
In this box:

Type “Email support” then hit enter and say yes that is correct that you are trying to reach an agent:

You can follow my example to get to it:

Choose create a ticket and fill out your name, email and description of the problem. Then they will start the email conversation, and you can reply back with more details as needed. It’s much more convenient to not have to wait on their time or wait on hold, etc. This empowers you to do everything on your time when it’s convenient for you instead of blocking out a bunch of time and waiting on hold. I love the email route.

I hope that helps and works out better for you too.
