Garage door opener sharing not working

Thank you for jumping in with a response! :+1:

I had this issue happened Monday the 26th on my Wife’s iPhone Deleted V3 Reinstall Same Results no open tab garage door then After That My iPhone Has no open Tab Now We Both Cant control the Garage Door As of 1-28-26 Can You Please Separate the SD card From Open and close Tab Is the most Annoying thing on New Update Version 4.36.14.3497

Same here, people with whom I shared the device do not see the button

Same issues on shared V3 cams with garage door opener.

iOS 26.1

Wyze 3.10.0 (9)

Camera 4.36.14.3497

Opener 0.10.0.21

This is pushing me to move to fully open source and host my own. Absolutely a ridiculous failure to remove that button on a public release. Used to be fantastic but this is a massive issue and almost locked my wife out of the house. The fact that Wyze hasn’t solved this in over a week is wild to me.

I hope you guys get it fixed soon. Our garage door is our primary means of entry and my wife NEEDS the wyze app to open the garage door.

Thanks! Yes, v3.10.0 (745)

Thanks! Yes,

Summary: v3.10.0 (745) Firmware Garage Door controller 0.10.0.21

Also have filed a case with Wyze support.

We did call Wyze support about this problem. Please refer to ticket number 4758652.

We tried a number of troubleshooting steps that Tech Support suggested, with no positive change.

Button for garage has not reappeared

FYI:

Thanks again to all who’ve been reporting this!

That update worked. Thank you!!

I’m not responsible for the fix, but I appreciate your giving the messenger some thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to test and post success with this! :+1:

Version 3.10.5.749 DOES NOT fix the issue where shared users are unable to use the garage door controller.

We both are on Android with Version 3.10.5.749. The camera and garage door controller firmware are both updated to the most recent.

We tried cancelling the share and re-sharing. This is the screenshot for the shared user. No garage door button!

What happens if the shared-access user does a complete profile refresh or uninstalls and re-installs the app?

This is how I would get a clean copy of my account profile/settings on Android (click/tap to expand):
  1. Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to  Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
  2. Navigate back one screen to Account and tap Log Out at the bottom.
  3. Swipe the Wyze app out of the running Android apps.
  4. Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (on the phone’s home screen or wherever you tap to initially open the app) and then tap App info in the pop-up menu.
  5. Tap  Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm) and then tap Storage & cache.
  6. Tap  Clear cache and  Clear storage on the Storage screen.
  7. Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap  Open and proceed to log back into your Wyze account/app. (Optionally reboot the phone at this step for good measure and then launch the Wyze app after the fresh boot instead of relaunching it immediately from this screen.)

Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform.

If that doesn't work, then the next troubleshooting I'd do would be this:
  1. Uninstall the Wyze app from the shared-access user’s phone.
  2. Reboot the phone.
  3. Reinstall the Wyze app from Google Play Store.
  4. Reboot the phone.
  5. Log into the shared-access Wyze account and check the affected Cam v3’s Live Stream screen.

Sometimes in-place app updates cause problems, and this is not exclusive to Wyze; it reportedly happens with other apps, too.

thanks

I cleared the cache, cleared the storage. Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, logged in and now Garage Door button is back. See photo above

Thank you for confirming a fix. I’m glad it worked for you! :+1:

I can confirm one of my family members with share access that has an android phone just updated to the latest Android release mentioned above and their Door Remote button returned! They simply did an update from their app list, nothing else. A family member I share with that still has the latest January iOS release from about a week ago continues to not have the shared button.

Eagerly awaiting that release. This door remote button share is a very convenient feature used almost daily in my family. Traditional garage door remotes are bulky and a pain to carry around especially if one comes and goes not by car.

Is there a fix for iOS too??

Welcome to the Forum, @masakoonishi!

Apparently a fix has been developed for the iOS app, and they’re still waiting on Apple:

@hvy1955chvy, thank you for confirming the Android fix! :+1:

V3 cams with garage door opener.

iOS 26.1

Wyze 3.10.0 (9)

Camera 4.36.14.3497

Opener 0.10.0.21

Same issue, my account can close and open, but none of my family who I shared with can control the doors. I see an update is expected, but figured I’d add anyway.

App developers like Wyze must submit new versions of their apps to the app distributors, namely Apply App Store and Google Play Store (Android). The new and updated version apps are put through certain technical test to make sure they are safe to distribute over their platforms and customer bases. More times than not, from what I’ve noticed, Apple can be a little more difficult to pass and so it can take more time to get released to us, compared Google.
