Here are two more Bookmarks. They are not thread bookmarks, but are Wyze related. Thought this would still be a good place to share.
DownDetector Wyze page
https://downdetector.com/status/wyze/map/
Wyze Service Status Known Issues page
Peepeep, thanks for starting this thread. I have added it to my forum bookmarks.

Oh yes, I use both of those as well. I even have the Downdetector app on my phone so I can check it easily with Wyze saved as a favorite, along with AWS and some other AWS companies so I can see if there is a pattern of AWS connectivity issues that might be indicative of a Wyze outage. Great suggestion.

How many different ways have you seen Wyze misspelled here. Not pointing fingers, but geeeee.
Then some important to me forum milestones that I reached.
It’s time again for our Community Spotlight!
For folks new to our forum, this is a program in which we nominate someone to receive a reward for their engagement in the forums. There are multiple ways to qualify such as giving us detailed bug reports (including app and firmware versions), awesome video contributions, or community helpfulness. People aren’t eligible to win again for 6 months so that everyone has the opportunity to hold the Spotlight.

Hello, forum residents!
I’m sure you’ve seen @Omgitstony around if you’ve been here for more than a couple of days (and probably even if you’re that new). We have the honor of announcing that he has agreed to join our Maven crew! We’re stoked to have him officially on our volunteer list and getting the recognition he’s earned.
Good lu- Erm… Welcome, Tony!
Hey, folks!
Today, we’re excited to announce that @Omgitstony has joined the ranks of volunteer Forum @Mods !
Tony has shown patience and helpfulness when working with difficult situations in the forum and has been a major help for flagging issues that require Mod or Wyze responses. We’re really happy to see what he’s able to do with the actual Mod powers!
Please give a warm welcome (and sympathy) to @Omgitstony !

Wow. I made the Carver list twice. I am so honored.
I have over 80 as well and most of them are by @carverofchoice .
Here are my top 6 (in no particular order):
This one is the post that kicked off my obsession with using Wyze Plugs as relay switches between Wyze Rules and Alexa Routines. I have 15 Wyze plugs. Only 3 have something plugged into them. This post illuminated the light bulb and inspired my Rube Goldberg automation obsession. Thanks @mikeschultz85 !
I’ve set up a hack/workaround using an extra Wyze outlet that I had to effectively set the thermostats to Home/Away by Alexa.
I have a routine that will turn on the Wyze outlet when Alexa Guard is set to Away mode. Then in the Wyze app I have a trigger set up so when the Wyze outlet is On, my thermostats will go to Away mode. Same deal with Home mode: Alexa Guard set to Home > Wyze outlet turns off > Wyze app triggers thermostats to Home mode. Has been working good for several months now.
Obvi…
This one is a great explanation on how the little green box works. An explanation that has to be repeated regularly. Thanks @Newshound !
Unfortunately, I think the green tagging box is pretty detached from having anything to do with what started the event, or even whether the motion identified was within your detection window. We had a lot of discussions about this in the early days.
Motion Tagging sensitivity is fixed (let’s say 50%?), and not related to the user-determined Motion Detection sensitivity. It is always set to that level, and applies to the whole screen regardless of detection zone. Also, when there are multiple…
I bookmarked this topic on Samsung SD Cards just because it is Doctoral Thesis level smart stuff (that I would love to be able to understand) on really technical whatnots as it pertains to testing the performance of an SD card. Thanks @jjwatmyself !
I took what I have gathered from research to speculate on the encoding profiles that are used in the Wyze firmware.
This reveals some interesting details. I have further speculated on the bitrate on the audio encoding in order to subtract audio and reveal the underlying video bitrate.
I have then taken the Samsung PRO Endurance microSD card in order to derive the life expectancy of the microSD card in a Wyze camera. This gives some clues into the controller on the SD card as TLC is generally …
I bookmarked this post (among several others) from our Forum Thermostat Whisperer @speadie and refer back to it often when reading thermostat posts. It lists what all the terminals do. Thanks @speadie !
Your wires are as follows: (make sure you tell the wyze app you have these wires during setup)
L = Blue wire, Heat pump monitor, unused on wyze, cap it off.
X2 = Brown wire, Emergency heat, * on wyze.
G = Green wire, Fan, G on wyze.
W2 = White wire, Backup / second stage heat, W1 on wyze.
O = Orange wire, Heat pump reversing valve, O/B on wyze
Y = Yellow wire, A/C compressor, Y1 on wyze
C = Black wire, 24VAC Common, C on wyze
R = Red wire, 24VAC Hot, Rc on wyze.
I bookmarked this post because it taught me how to setup a loud external siren long before Wyze added the HMS to the rules triggers (current App Beta BTW). Of the 8 linkbacks, I think 7 are mine. Great out of the box thinking here. Thanks @dasnider !
@ken63 and any others trying to add an external siren: I found a way around the problem of how to arm/disarm it without having to go in and change multiple sensors every time - see below. It’s a bit clunky and is not integrated with HMS, but it does work!
Attach a loud external alarm to a Wyze Plug (let’s call the plug “Siren”). I use a 12V Honeywell siren & 120>12V adapter that I got on Amazon.
Plug “Siren” into a second Wyze Plug (let’s call it “Alarm Master”), and plug “Alarm Master” into …
And last, but certainly not least, is a two-fer of mind blowing tutorials on SD Cards and differences in formatting and also the differences in how SD Card space and Wyze SD usage is calculated. Thanks @carverofchoice !
I don’t represent Wyze, but I can help provide a little understanding on the differences.
Differences to understand upfront to not get confused by the rest of the explanation:
SDHC and SDXC are capacity standards.
FAT32 and exFAT are File Structure formats
Class is the speed the SD card can write
What it mostly boils down to is the following:
FAT32 is basically free to use at this point. It is an older file system and it has some limits (no individual files greater than 4GB), 8TB partitio…
I have not tested any of these fixes. We have had reports from some people with V2’s that 256GB cards are now working. in those. I don’t believe the V3 fix has been released to the public Beta yet.
This is a common misunderstanding from people in general. There are 2 different ways to count the storage space…Gigabyte is using the decimal system, so a GigaByte (GB) is 10 to the 9th or 1,000,000,000 Bytes; while a Gibibyte (GiB or just G) is using the binary system and is 2 to the 30th or 1,073,…

It’s was, and still is a good video for troubleshooting and showing the detection system of the WCO v1. Dongsheng originally posted it here , but I just reposted it with a working link.

Aside from the practical value (a LOT) this is really helping me get to know you all better.
imagine what the network/digital version of this “transaxle dream” might look like:

A taste (and capacity) for complexity
I didn’t read the thread linked above before I posted. Just read it now, lol.
My memory was of the drawings and the artist’s name by which I might find them.
This was the thread by which I was judged a pontificator. There is, of course, some truth to that.

There are quite a few situations out of the many many you encounter in the app where toggling a setting on/off/on, force-closing the app, clearing the cache, and restarting the app, will display an updated result.
If memory serves, @spamoni4 is the magician with these dances, he can refine the above if I’ve muffed it.

Another magician! (For illustration purposes.)
While not 'lousy with ‘em’, the forum is blessed with quite a few…
…and those who dance it well (and share the steps!)
You put your left foot in
You take your left foot out
You put your left foot in
And you shake it all about
You do the hokey pokey
And you turn yourself around
That’s what it’s all about!

As per many discussions in this forum, I disable the microphones on some Wyze V2 cameras to guarantee audio privacy and avoid any possible legal jeopardy depending on where they are placed.

To @f.catus and @angus.black :
You are right to be suspicious and you should be. There is nothing free and it is often true that if you don’t pay for something then you are the product. I’m the first one to tell my friends about it.
So why would Wyze be any different. Well, we are not. Like any other company we need to make some money to stay in business and we came close to not being able to have enough cash to continue operation. You can see the Q&A video for some of the details.
So how are…
