Anyone using v3 firmware 4.36.14.3497 and if so how is it working for you?
I will answer my own question and give 4.36.14.3497 a Thumbs Up.
I always start by updating my Backyard v3. If Notifications, Cloud Video, SD card playback and Live View work then I update the rest of my v3 cameras one at a time. I am still using App version 2.50.
I am, on all my v3s. I do it the same way, I upgrade my backyard cam first, test for a day or two. If no issues then I update my other one at home. Wait for a day or two then I update the other four at the cottage one at a time.
I have a simple strategy on firmware updates; the higher off the ground, the lower priority. ![]()
Yeah, it’s been working fine for me.
Generally, a firmware thread with hardly any comments is a sign it’s probably fine. Many of us make an effort to come comment when there are abnormalities. ![]()
This still has not fixed the bug where the first recording will not load to play.
First recording for the day? I’ve had a few that don’t play at all, but it’s rare. I always thought the camera upload didn’t complete.
Yeah, especially when a fixed camera gets a panning control.
Not well. My camera groups disappeared. I can create a new group but the cameras are now grayed out with no way to add them to the new group.
Your issue may not be with v3 firmware 4.36.14.3497. It may be using Wyze App version 3.xx.
I believe the reason I am happy with 4.36.14.3497 is because I am still using App version 2.50.
Thank you for that insight. Do you know if there is any way to go back to App version 2.50?
You can grab APK files of older Wyze Apps for Android here.
I don’t if you can go back to an older App on IOS. Maybe someone else can chime in.
Nope, imposible on iOS.

Since your issue seems more likely related to the app than to a firmware update (the subject of this topic), I wonder if finding the appropriate announcement topic within the Wyze News category for whatever app version you’re using would help that issue to get more attention. Because you’ve identified yourself as an iPhone/iPad user, I’d also recommend making a comment about whether you’re using the Wyze app on iOS, iPadOS, or both, as some issues people have reported in recent months seem to affect iPadOS but not iOS, and I really think Wyze needs to be aware of those so that they can address them specifically.
Ok, I will search Wyze news for an announcement topic related to the app. I’m using IOS app version 3.6.5.5 and updated both the app and the camera firmware at the same time so hard to say which is causing the problem.
In that case, you want this one:
You can do a reverse sort (most recent topics at the top) of that category with this: https://forums.wyze.com/c/news/21?ascending=false&order=created.
Since the problem you’re describing is with groups, that strikes me as being more likely an app issue, but I’m just guessing.
