False alerts

Since 12:56pm to current time -as they are still coming in- I’ve gotten 13 motion alerts from my basement v2. NO ONE is down there. I reviewed each one. I went down to see if something was moving like a curtain or piece of paper. Couldn’t find a thing. My wife is home now so I asked her to please go verify that I didn’t miss anything. She didn’t see anything either. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve never had this happen. This v2 has been extremely reliable. I’m baffled. Thanks.

Tell her it s ghost. Maybe turn down the detection and sound slide bar

There are both at 1. Lol

Is motion tagging on? Does anything have a green box around it, to tell what the camera thought it was triggering to?

Nope never used motion tagging on any of my cameras

The only “unimportant” movement alerts I get are related to flying insects while the camera has its IR light on.

This happened all during the day. And it stopped at 4:49pm. It’s the weirdest situation I’ve ever experienced. I have no idea what caused it or what triggered it. I’m just glad it’s over. And I hope it never comes back.

Have you viewed your event videos carefully to see if you see any fluctuation of light, either patterns or just brlghtness from moment to moment? As I’m sure you know the motion detection is based on a pixel change algorithm either in the FOV or the detection zone…

I’d turn it on to help trouble shoot if the issue arises again.

I told my wife the only thing I saw was subtle light changes. It’s a theater with black out curtains. VERY DARK! And they are always closed. But we had high winds today and clouds moving a lot. Might have moved just enough for light to peak in small openings in the curtains. I think we solved it. Thanks. @tomp
