"Face Recognition now available for CamPlus Subscribers"

3 appear to be on but not working.
The rest, I agreed to prompt but would not change to On.
I am on Beta on all cams. I am on current iPhone iOS with current Wyze app.

I stood in front of each camera for about a minute looking at camera.

in BC, Canada so ok

I don’t think it’s specific accounts. Several people (including myself, Seapup, and spamoni4) have SOME cams that are working with friendly faces, and lots of others that aren’t. I would think that if it was an account issue, we’d have NO cams working.
I am going to submit it in next Month’s Fix-it-Friday so that Wyze will see it’s not an isolated issue and will actually look into it a lot more thoroughly and take it more seriously that there really is a glitch, and it’s not just me.

So far, none of mine work.

I’ve tried three different versions of the Wyze app on iOS and none make any difference.

Versions tried: 2.47.0 (1), 2.46.0(6), and 2.45.0(6).

I’ve activated it on V2s, V3s, Pan V1 and Pan V2 and none work.

Server problems on AWS? Different configurations on the servers?

My Wyze OG telephoto may be working!! It identified me from earlier today in 2 events.

Learning?

SWEET! This will be the first confirmation I’ve seen about an OG! I’m glad to hear it.
Maybe they just got overloaded with new requests or something and it got backlogged? IDK, that doesn’t make sense to me, but hopefully more start working soon. Thanks for letting us know.

You may have something there. One of my cameras worked last night.

answer, I agree is not working on my Video Doorbell Pro. Any suggestions? I have tried turning it on many times. i click the slider, it brings up the prompt, I agree, and it goes back to the screen with the slider in off position.

Did you agree twice? It pops up a second time as a confirmation.

FYI, it depends on the camera model. Some of them require it twice, but some are only once. I’m pretty sure it’s a bug to ask twice, though not a severe one.

Regardless, my one camera recognized a face ONCE, and has stopped now. Not very reassuring that Wyze is on top of this.

We’ll make sure it gets on their Radar this Friday. I tried to shoot my shot once, but I think it got dismissed by one of the AI guys as an isolated incident. So now I’ll push it again during Fix-it-Friday where other people can vote on it too and then it can’t get dismissed as an isolated incident anymore since lots of people will be agreeing that it’s a problem more than a week later. The AI guy said it can take 2 hours, but if it’s still not working after a week for at least dozens of people, then they will have to figure out what’s going on. Just do us all a favor and everyone vote on it sometime this weekend. I might even post it in some of the other platforms to see how many users in the other places report the same issue. It’s definitely not an isolated incident.

Tagging @WyzeJasonJ on this one as well. This seems to a problem across various cameras. I have V2s, V3s and Pans 1 & 2 that don’t work. Had a V2 capture a face once but never again. Tried multiple app versions without success.

I did not get a second prompt.

I have V3Pros (5 out of 6 won’t work), FLPros, BCPros, and VDBv2, that won’t work with Face detection.
Someone else told me their OG’s weren’t working either.

I do have V2’s, V3’s, and VDBPro that work with it, but I set mine up more than a year ago during a public beta, so they were already working before this new change. I did get 1 single V3Pro to work when I tried with my iPhone instead of my android, but it didn’t fix any other cams I tried it with, so I think it was just magic coincidence.

I don’t recall anyone saying anything about Pan V3 or VDBv1 offhand.

But I am sure it is an issue with all cams. Once in a while someone gets a random cam to work, but most won’t.

I was having issues with my pan v3 but it just registered my face for the first time!

Thanks! It is good to have a clear confirmation on the Pan V3! Hopefully more start kicking in soon.

We are looking into some bugs with Friendly Faces, I will let you know what we find.

Because the cams are AI powered, I knew it would be a progressive implementation. I am happy we are getting this.
Let’s see how good it will get, very excited!

I’m excited as well! Now that so many more users have access to it, Wyze should be able to get lots more metrics on how it’s working, as well as bug reports. I imagine it will become much more reliable. And with lots of the newer cams switching to 2k standard, the accuracy should become better as well.
