Today I got this popup within the Android App, it said CamPlus subscribers now get Facial Recognition within their CamPlus Subscription. But it asked me to purchase a new subscription.
I am already CamPlus User and I think I don’t have Facial Recognition enabled yet.
Is this a thing only for newbies?
It’s only for those who have the “UNLIMITED” program. It isn’t included with individual licenses, only if you have the Cam Plus Unlimited version that includes up to 99 camera licenses.
I didn’t specify it, but I have:
Cam Plus Unlimited Cameras Monthly Plan.
And yes I do get 99 licenses though I am using only 8.
What happens if you go into the cams event recording settings and try to enable friendly faces?

I’ve enabled friendly faces on several cameras but it isn’t identifying any faces in my clips. Am I missing some other step?
The linked support article above is pretty useful, but doesn’t note some details. Did you get your face logged to the server? If not, walk up close to the cam and stand still for a second. Although the server will process the event and tag it person fairly quick, additional time is needed to catalog the face. If successful, your face will show up in Home > Account > Friendly Faces. Once that is complete, subsequent person events will include your face below the event stream and you should also receive a face notification. Several good shots help the AI with recognition.
Also, once you have your 1st face in Account > Friendly Faces, subsequent shots (of you) are stored in the same place. Tap on your face in Account > FF and you’ll see all shots that the AI determined to be you.
Still not working for me with CamPlus Unlimited. Stood in front of the camera for 30 seconds or more but the AI only flags person.
I have unlimited 99 … Faces only turns on for some of my Cams. Some appear to turn on but actually do not.
I’ve tried turning it off and on but it never works. Even removed CamPlus from the camera and added it back with no change.
Just out of curiosity, which camera models are you having problems with, and which OS?
I am having problems with V3Pro, FLPro, VDBv2, and BCPro. I know WCO’s will get it in a future app update, and I heard someone say OG’s weren’t working yet.
I have gotten it to work on all V2s, all V3’s, my Pan v1, and my VDBPro.
I did actually get one of 6 V3Pro’s to work, but only after I tried it on my iPhone instead of Android. However, all the others wouldn’t turn on with either Android or iPhone.
Just trying to get it working on a V3. I only have V3s, V2s and one each Pan V1 and 2. Only have iOS on iPad and iPhone.
I will say that when I got it working for my V3’s, I set those up like 2 years ago and have had Friendly faces ever since. But any new cams I try to add it to, it doesn’t work. So I am thinking it’s not about the camera, but mostly about the newer App glitching out.
You saying it’s not working for your V3’s is insanely helpful data. I thought the problem was based on camera model, but apparently that’s not it. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been trying to get Wyze to believe me there is a massive problem activating friendly faces on lots of cameras, and not just me.
How far away from the cam is your face?
Where in the app are you looking to determine success/fail?
I was approximately 3 feet in front of the camera looking straight at it. The camera is maybe 1 foot above my height in a breezeway above my kitchen door. I looked at the event which just labeled it as Person, not “Someone” and I also checked friendly faces under the account settings which said no faces captured during the last week.
Sounds like an ideal scenario where your face should have been placed in the Friendly Faces area for identification. As @carverofchoice noted above, there appears to be an issue. I’m having the same issue on most of my v3 cams. They are all running the same firmware version. I have only 1 Cam v3 that will tag faces. 
I’ve got a Pan V2 not doing anything at the moment. I’ll test it later today if I can. I’ve got a clogged kitchen sink to deal with first.
I activated Friendly Faces on a V2 I have in my shop and then walked out there. AI recognized me as a person, but no attempt to do facial rec. Maybe something with CamPlus Unlimited or specific accounts?
