I have a Wyze Cam v3. It records events with Cam Plus Lite. The firmware is up to date.
I updated the iPhone app yesterday and now the app won’t load events (although I can still watch them on the web version). I have tried rebooting the app and the phone. My phone is running iOS 17.6.1.
Is there any else I should try? Thank you so much!
Thanks for the speedy reply! I tried clearing the cache, removing the app, rebooting, etc., with no success. What happens is when I click on the event, it shows the still of the start of the video, with a message “Loading event…” with three bouncing dots, but the video never actually loads. I can check the video on the website but the app is more convenient. Any other ideas?
I have the same issue but only for the first notification event of each day.
it just keeps trying to load. I do not give access to my photos. Never have.
I updated my iphone to IOS 18.1 and am up to date on the firmware. This issue appeared right after the most recent app update a few days ago.
i suspect it is a Wyze issue which will be corrected once the technical support people are
made aware of it and implement an update fix.
BTW, my camera is a V2.
This is exactly my experience. First event of each day won’t load in the app. My work around is to download it so I can watch it. Hope they fix it soon.
I do not have that issue. I had a 4 minute 12 second event video at 00:03 this morning and I could view it just fine. iOS 18.1.1 and WYZE app 3.2.6 (1 ). iPhone SE2020.
I have the event won’t play problem but I found if I keep tapping on the video it will often start playing. Once the first plays subsequent events will play normally. But my bigger problem is when I have viewed and deleted all of my day’s events it will then show me events from cameras that have been shared with me but I have not selected those cameras to show me their events. If I pull down on the event listing screen they go away and it says I have no events to view (which is what it should say). This all began with the latest “new” app ( 3.2.7.1) interface for displaying events on IOS 18.1.1
It is happening for me also - didn’t notice it was for first event until you mentioned but definitely same thing here. It happened after Wyze UI changed. It is slower in general loading views also but really the biggest issue is viewing that first video of the day.
I was communicating with a supervisor/manager at Wyze regarding this issue and the last email received from him was December 2.
He thanked me for helping to troubleshoot the issue from my end and told me that even though my ticket was closed I should “rest assured you need not worry, as this matter has already been reported”. I certainly hope they are still working on a fix. Additionally, he advised to “monitor future app and firmware updates”. I believe there are a lot of people affected by this and many have not realized it only relates to the first event of the day.
Wyze won’t show in photos permissions until you try to save something from inside the Wyze app. Requesting a Save operation will cause the IOS permissions screen to open, and Wyze will be on the list after that.
Totally agree on First Event issue, been with us since early November update.
Hoping they get it fixed, is really annoying.
Workaround in the meantime if you have an SD card in the cam - click on the event (it won’t load), on the lower right side of the screen click on the SD card icon. Event will load.
Welcome to the forum.
In 2020 using the iOS app the choice was “Selected Photos” then in 2021 or 2022 something went astray and the app required access to “ALL” photos for a period. After that is was switched to limited access for photos. There are some old post here someplace about the issue off having to grant access to all photos. If you did no give permission you could not download anything to an iOS device, it was terrible.
