I have the same exact problem! It never used to do this but now it does and sometimes there’s a ton of events and it’s roll through like that before it’ll actually let me go to the home screen. Can’t figure out how to fix it.
Why do you think it’s only affecting some users? You would think if it is bug in the app it would affect everyone
Edge cases can be for a lot of reasons. Likely some combination of settings they use that others don’t, or other environmental factors. Devices, App version, user settings combination (on device or in-app), various environmental factors (including random things like other apps on a device), timing, countless things can make something happen for one person and not another. I’ve seen a lot of crazy edge cases during my professional QA Testing days. This is where logs help devs narrow down similarities of those experiencing it the differences of those who don’t.
In my case it seems to occur most often after the app has been closed for a length of time, swiping away un-viewed notifications as they appear & accumulate and then eventually re-opening the app.
Interesting, it’s like it’s not actually clearing the notifications and saves a few up to be triggered the next time you open the app.
I’ve paid more attention to this over the past two weeks as it has been driving me crazy. Here is how I can duplicate it, over and over:
When events pop up on my iPhone home/notification screen,
I PRESS AND HOLD these events to “preview” them, then clear them, without actually opening up the Wyze app at all.
THESE are the clips that show when you open the Wyze app and must click back through.
I’ve found if I don’t CLICK AND HOLD to preview the thumbnails on the main Iphone screen, they will not appear in the events you must click back through to get to the main Wyze screen.
Can anyone else duplicate it doing it this way?
There may be something to this, but I am confident I have this issue even when I do not do that.
I do that all the time and I don’t have that issue, weird, really weird.
Thanks for the screen capture, that shows it perfectly. This is so annoying, and is still happening to me daily.
Ideally the events wouldn’t auto-show at all, but at the very least, if there was an X to close out the event view (instead of having to go back through all of them one by one) that would help.
This happens to me too and is very annoying.
Are you guys on the beta or regular app?
I’m beta on Android.
So obnoxious. Something must have changed in their app on one of the updates. I’m using iOS and it does the event thing. I open the app to look at a camera and I have to hit back, back, back, back to get to the Home Screen. Please put a setting or something to disable this event playback view. It’s terrible. I just want to get to the Home Screen when I click the app, not view all the events. If I want to view the events, I’ll click the events tab. Please fix!!!
Some additional information to add to the discussion: I asked my wife, who only has access to our Wyze gear via my sharing with her, if she has experienced the issue and she said she never has.
As I mentioned in my initial post I’m running iOS 18.2 and Wyze app version 3.2.7 (1).
The same thing is happening to me too! And has been happening for months. Is there a fix yet?? It’s so annoying. I found that if you open the app and get stuck in this “events loop”, you can quit the app (iPhone) and reopen the app and it clears them all. I’ve found this to be the only workaround so far, but still very annoying and takes extra time to view/control my devices!
I bypass the annoying “recent events preview” thing by opening the app, immediately closing it, then opening it again. It clears those recent events and takes you directly to home. This “feature” has been annoying me for quite some time now but that’s the only sure-fire way to get around it that I’ve found so far. No settings affect it that I can tell.
