I went in yesterday and reordered many of my cameras in my Device Tab (Android 3.9.9(739)).
Today I went into devices and they were right, and I went to move some other devices around to group them, and it re-ordered to default on me. I put some back, closed the app, then it re-ordered again upon opening.
I saw a thread about this same problem, but it was closed, so I could not add to that thread.
It seems to be holding for now, but something I did forced a default re-order two times on me.
I only use this signin on this one phone (pixel 6a with android 16 fully updated).
The last time I experienced something like that was probably over a year ago.
If you encounter this type of situation in the future and think the closed topic could provide some additional context to the discussion and whatever issue you’re trying to describe, I can think of at least three different things you could do:
Use the Forum’s “Reply as linked topic” option to automatically create a link back to the original (closed) topic as the beginning of your new topic and provide some context/continuity.
Paste a link yourself to the older topic within your new topic/post.
Ask the Moderators to re-open the older topic (an easy way to do this is to Flag your own topic and select the Something Else option) so that your discussion can be continued there. I don’t know if that’s something they’d do, and it’s probably a case-by-case thing, but I think it seems like a reasonable request.
If you’re experiencing this problem within camera groups, then Cam order in group suddenly changed to a random order is probably a more relevant topic for you. This seems to be a very recent issue, whereas I believe this particular topic (the one I’m posting to right now) is different, as it relates to device re-ordering on the app’s Devices tab.
If you’re seeing devices reorder on the Devices tab, then this is the correct topic, and more detail about your experience would be helpful.
