Enable Apple Vision Pro Compatibility

Please enable support for the Apple Vision Pro.

Don’t forget to press the vote button at the top of the thread.

It will be interesting to see if it is supported early on. It seems like it’s been fairly easy for a lot of other apps to add compatibility for it Hopefully it’s as simple as how they allowed it work for MacOS now.

I just bought one and will be testing the Wyze iPad app in Apple Vision Pro. Maybe I’ll upload an impressions video to the Wyze YouTube channel if this comment gets enough likes.

I was totally bummed to see that Wyze opted out of including the iPad app in the AVP store. I assumed it would be there… I use it to watch my baby while he sleeps, and was hoping to be able to work in AVP with a little iPad style/size Wyze app window floating on the side.

I don’t need or expect any 3D functionality - just the equivalent of the iPad or iPhone app. The passthrough is decent, so for now I’m still trying to keep my phone open on the table in front of me, but it’s a little blurry and uncomfortable to look at.

Definitely upload some videos at least here, we would love to see it!

Did we really opt out? Do you have an AVP? This is something I want as well as I work from home and on a desktop, would be great to have a floating window of my baby sleeping while working.

Yes I do have an AVP (it’s awesome!). And yes it appears Wyze
opted out. Seems like a no brainer to have it on vision os?

Yes, I do have one, and I didn’t see Wyze in the app store, in either the visionOS or ā€œcompatible iPadā€ sections. My understanding is that ā€œcompatibleā€ iPad apps automatically appear there unless explicitly opted out by the developer. But also the APIs aren’t identical and if an app relies on one not available in visionOS (eg taking pictures with the camera), then it won’t automatically appear. I of course don’t know how Wyze is built or what APIs it uses to know what the case is, but I hope you can release it soon!

I’m all over this. We should absolutely have this live in the App Store for you.

Can you all try logging into my.wyze.com and seeing what happens on Apple Vision pro?

Upload a screenshot if you can!

It does work. The video quality is nice and I can resize and place the windows wherever I’d like. However - without the app there are no notifications, so vehicle/person/package, etc, does not work. A built in app that would pop up a notification that you could select and go right to the corresponding camera would be great! That being said - this is nice to at least be able to view the camera feeds from within Vision Pro.

I moved it to ā€˜researching’ since we are looking into it how it can work.

This will definitely be awesome to have… open the app, and let a camera run in the background while I watch a movie… WAY cool AR integration… Even if it’s just ā€˜Ipad App’ version enabled / compatibility version, that’ll work.

The only thing better would be to be able to have a native AR integrated version, and be able to natively open multiple windows and/or drag a single camera and set it up anywhere (in AR)… or to recognize camera’s and show you the view of the camera we’re looking at, etc. aka, Be able to add a ā€˜where is this camera located’ anchor, and when spawning the app, have all 16 cameras on one of my properties pop up in AR near the approximate locations they are actually at…
but beggers can’t be choosers and I’ll take a compatible app for now  Thanks to the amazing Wyze team for being supportive and figuring out how to get it in our Vision Pro’s!

It’s exciting to think about AR integration in the app. I wonder about the practicality of running a camera in the background while watching a movie. It’s a cool concept, but I’m not sure how seamless the experience would be. Starting with a compatible iPad version is a good move, but I’m not sure how well it’ll translate to the full AR experience you’re imagining. Your ideas for native AR integration are ambitious, though it might be a stretch for current technology.

@jones.kevin3364
100% agree. And I admit no one has any sort of long term experience with those concepts yet (hence the idea of visionary thought)…
but fwiw, my personal (only) multi day experience with wyze web having it open while watching a movie, checking email, slack, and a bunch of other things worked just fine quality wise - I had to reconnect once or twice (but I have to do that in the app too, so not really a problem)… although this bring a thought to say here…

@WyzeJasonJ … maybe for vision pro add a ā€˜auto-reconnect’ option (so like taking a headset off, and eating, then coming back) which may disconnect and reconnect the internet… having an auto-reconnect the stream would make the use more seamless for the user and give a better AR experience (aka, not having to click reconnect often)

Hi. Any update on this?

Wondering the same thing. I have a ton of virtual space here that I could use a native app video of my camera!!
