I harken for the days when Wyze provided basic sensors that just worked and didn’t require a sub.
I have a bunch of devices scattered around my house but they’ve begun to fail so I bought a Wyze Sense Starter Kit from eBay and am unable to determine whether any of the devices is working.
The devices arrived in the original box and each sensor was wrapped in the packing plastic. The devices contained (original?) batteries which I have replaced.
The LED on the front of the devices (Wyze Contact Sensors, Wyze Motion Sensor) doesn’t flash after replacing the battery nor when I apply the pin. What should I expect to see?
It’s unclear to me whether the devices are just dead or my batteries aren’t good. Given that the Wyze app continues to include these sensors in its configurer, I’m assuming (!?) there’s no way these have been “bricked”.
For the contact sensor, I had the original magnet and backing plate both still attached to my door so I tried the new device with the new battery in this enclosure.
I’m willing to buy replacement batteries but don’t want to spend more money if the devices are dead.
When the original Contact Sensor (battery) failed and I tried one of this batch of replacement batteries without success, it led me to believe that the device had just died but perhaps it is a bad batch of batteries?
Would appreciate constructive debugging guidance.
