My Doorbell Pro stopped working for some reason. It will no longer charge. Do I have any options for repair or replacement? Thank you.
What did Support say when you contacted them? If the product failed within a year of purchase and was obtained directly from Wyze or an authorized retailer, then they might offer a replacement.
What kinds of troubleshooting have you attempted so far? If you’ve followed the steps in the “My Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is not charging” Help Center article and haven’t found resolution with that or any other troubleshooting, then I wonder if wiring it to a transformer would allow you to continue to use it. That’s something I’d consider attempting since you mentioned “repair” in your original post.
When I try to contact support, they bring me to this forum.
I’ve already tried all the troubleshooting in that article.
That’s unfortunate. I have also had interactions with Support agents who have suggested visiting the Forum. While I do believe the peer support available here in the community is good—and I suspect that many of us have much more hands-on experience with these products than most Wyze Wizards do—I don’t think that’s the correct way to address user problems, so learning that they continue to do that (I think some agents are worse offenders than others) is frustrating.
That’s good to know about the troubleshooting. I’m still wondering about using a transformer. If you search the Forum, you can find examples of users who have used plug-in transformers to wire their doorbells, including Video Doorbell Pro (if you can’t find those, then feel free to let me know, and I’ll see what I can dig up to point you in the right direction). As long as the voltage (V AC) and apparent power output (VA) of the transformer are adequate, then that’s something else you could try if your doorbell’s mount location allows for that. If that’s not going to work and if you need a battery-powered device for your application, then a replacement is probably going to be a better option.
Yes, I just bought another one. But thank you for your help!
You’re welcome. I wish I had a better answer for you, and I hope the new one lasts longer.
