It’s a poor product
LifeHackster on YouTube has a review of the AOSU. It has some great features but unfortunately it shows the same washout. In fact he specifically points it out in his summary.
Sorry to revive this thread, but I was wondering… for those of you above who posted the white washout issue on a Wyze Doorbell… can you let me know if that is just on the Doorbell Pro? Or was this a common issue with the original v1 Doorbell?
(Reason I’m asking is because I just purchased / installed the Doorbell v2 and am experiencing these problems. Wondering if it’s just the 2k?)
I imagine this issue applies to any camera. The camera wants to balance the brightness, but if there’s a bright spot, it’s gunna have to either darken the entire image to see what’s going on in that bright spot, which will cause the dark spots to become too dark, or leave it how it is and then you won’t see anything in the white spot.
Positioning the doorbell with a wedge or something is probably the only thing you can do
I tried 3 different pro cameras from Wyze and all had bad images in sunlight. I bought an Aosu doorbell camera, much better.
Just installed the Wyze video doorbell V2 and I see the same issue too. Haven’t had this issue with all the other Wyze cameras. Seems like a doorbell camera issue.
The Sun is actually on the other side of the house so it’s not like it’s pointing straight at the sun either. In fact, I have a wyze cam OG pointing towards the sun in the backyard and that is actually showing up fine.
I gave up on their door ell camera, however I see they have a new 2k model
