Doesn't recognize SD card

Thank you so much for all that information! I guess I’ll try to take it out and reformat and if that doesn’t work I’ll have to go with a SanDisk class 10 card. Was just hoping since the Wyze brand has been so good, I haven’t had any problems up until now, I wanted to stick with their brand . I wonder if they offer replacement? I know it’s been awhile and I’m not sure where my original receipt is. Thank you so very much for your reply.

What is the advantage of using an SD card? I am confused. Still only 12 sec clips right?

And what is the advantage of using the SD card in the Outdoor Cam base station? I don’t get it. 12 sec clips in the cloud, why would I need it?

Talking about Micro SD card in a V2 or Pan NOT outdoor cam My v2 and pan have been outdoors for 2 years. The V2 and Pan can also do continuous recording as they are powered all the time not battery

Really not brand related its because these cards can only be written to so many times before they wear out. That is why they make endurance cards that can withstand many more read write cycles than a standard card.

Thank you so much for all of your help petereye, You have been so much help. Do you recommend a certain card? The Wyze cams can only use the 32gb cards, is that correct? So the class 10 cards with a higher read and write speeds would be better?

With the sd card you can hit the “view playback” and select dates and times to see what your camera recorded in the past, I think mine went back about a week or maybe a little more with the 32gb micro sd card. I think you have to have an sd card for time lapse as well. I like that you can use the camera without the micro sd card but having one makes it better to be able to go back and see anything you may have missed.
Edit: I apologize, I am not sure if that is any different for the outdoor camera, I am using the Wyze v2 cameras

I have been using 32gb Samsung class 10 . From Ebay the one that failed me was a PNY, I have had a couple issues with them, also a Flash drive, so I am staying away from them. A samsung pro endurance is only $10 on Ebay

I have 7 Wyze cams. I haven’t checked the recordings in years. Today upon checking them I found two dead cameras and 6 dead micro cards. Cameras won’t connect even though I deleted and added them back. Cards won’t delete files or format. Tried on windows and MacBook. Cards are name brand, Samsung and Sandisk. Even tried diskpart with command prompt, no good. Strange that they all died.

Normal for sd card dies after few years for continuos recording.

Same issue like half of my cameras no longer let me access the Sd card. Not currently going to take the time to remove cards, format then re align all my cameras. hopefully its just a bug from the last update and a patch will come soon., not sure why it would only effect half the cameras but?
