Does the Hub have to be manually reset everytime there is a power failure?

Same problem they Need to update the firmware what if you were out of town in cannot push the reset button

In the last week we’ve had two power outages: one planned and one unplanned. On both occasions the hub came back online without any intervention. Firmware version 4.32.6.142.

We had power out yesterday. No sort of notification that anything is out, all my door and motion sensors have been offline since the power went out. So, basically the security system has been totally offline since the power went out and came back online and it doesn’t even send you a notification that it’s offline or a sensor is offline? I only noticed it this morning when a door was opened and no noise was heard. I had to press the reset button and add the hub again. This isn’t a sustainable solution, what if I am away?

This seems to be inconsistent and not all hubs behave the same. I had my power out, internet out or unavailable for long and short periods of time recently and my hub (so far) has come back online without any intervention. I did have the same problems before, but recently it hasn’t been an issue. Not trying to downplay the problem, just noting that it doesn’t seem to be affecting all hubs.

I have never had this issue before , Internet out , power out , no matter , the hub always came back online all by itself , today it did not, Internet was out for about 1/2 an hour , everything else came back online except this hub , pushing the reset button to reset it up did nothing, no ready to connect no nothing.
i had to unplug the battery and plug it back in , plug in power cord, then i was able to set it up and get it back on line

I’ve been having this issue numerous times in the past two months.
I run a unifi enterprise grade network on fiber with everything on battery backups.
Not seeing any network blips ever on the fiber from the network diagnostics and my heavy usage.
The Wyze sense hub seems to decide at random times to just go into a disconnected state and I don’t notice until I’m in the wyze app looking at a camera alert and notice all my sensors are offline. Surprised the Wyze home monitoring service doesn’t pop any type of alert in this condition.
This time it’s gone offline while I am away, so I can’t go through the reset procedure.
Had always had the hub on a wired connection for reliability, but also switched it to wireless to see if that would make it more reliable. Nope, it still goes permanently into the disconnected state.
On the network management side, I can see the 10 Mb connection still active to the Hub (yes, the only 10 Mb connection I have seen in many years on my network). Yet the Wyze side will still see it disconnected,
I’ve submitted logs and gone through support a number of times on this with the same manual reset procedures each time.
There still doesn’t seem to be an understanding that something is wrong in the Hub firmware itself if it is not auto reconnecting when there is a valid network connection.
I was annoyed by this until today, because I am away, and now I have no home monitoring service and particularly on the leak sensors while there is a major weather event.
Really need Wyze to escalate this issue or I need to switch out the whole Wyze Home Monitoring setup as this is simply not acceptable. Maybe this time they’ll try sending me a new hub and maybe that’ll be a different hardware version that works better with the current firmware as some here have reported.

Suffering the same issue now myself so maybe it is firmware. Apparently the is no way to remotely reset the hub

I believe that I have found a workaround to remotely resetting the Wyse sense hub. I connected the hub to a Smart plug, which allows me to remotely turn the hub on and off, e.g. removing and restoring power to it. First I remotely shut the power off to the hub and turned it back on after about a 10-second delay. I then observed the hub sequencing the three lights on and off. I remotely rebooted my Orbi mesh router, and when it reset all three of the Wyse sense hub lights were illuminated and the wise phone app reported that the hub and keypad were back online. All now seems to be functioning as normal.

Interesting, when you removed power using the smart plug on the Wyze Sense Hub, did the battery backup not kick in?

It did…when I removed power. However, when I turned the smart plug power on again, the three-light sequencing began on the hub. At that point I let it sit for about 10-15 minutes with no change in the light sequencing. I then reset my router (remotely on the web using my Orbi smartphone app). When the router was completely rebooted I observed that the three Wyze Sense hub lights all illuminated solidly. I now assume that this process could be repeated if I am away from home and my Wyze Sense hub goes offline, which it did last week and I could not reset it remotely at that time. With the addition of the smart plug, it now appears that this process works. We will see…
