Do location-based rules work at all?

I think by now Wyze should admit that the service does NOT WORK and quit falsely advertising it like it does. Easier to just ignore it but not very professional. I doubt anyone from Wyze even monitors this thread though.

Wyze Cam v3, Samsung Galaxy S21 (Android 14) - geofencing to turn camera off and on when I leave my house was working (most of the time), for the past month it does not work at all. Have checked, app has full permissions. Tried clearing cache and data, has not resolved issue.

It’s the phone. Geofencing can act weird. All sorts of reasons. New app installed, the phone itself develops a bug, Android patches something and makes it worse.

The app responds to what the phone tells it. That is not always a clean operation.

Additional note: I’ve been using Geo-Fencing since they introduced it 5 years ago??? That’s 3 Android phones (Pixels) worth of testing. It works most of the time, but then sometimes I have to reboot my phone.

My wife gets location notifications from Google Maps Location Sharing when I arrive home. And often, it will ding her phone 15 min after I’ve been home. I, on the hand, CAN NOT get a single location-based notification from Google Location sharing for her. I have looked and looked on how to fix this. No luck.

The modern smartphone has a lot going on with it (Accelerometer, Gyroscope, GPS, Cell, etc). And even though the first Smartphone was made in 2007 (or so), they still haven’t solved all the bugs. Same goes for tech. Same bugs, different day.
