I guess my previous message was not very clear. I AM seeing the problem with some of my V2 cameras.
Did a little research and came up with something really odd. Essentially all of my cameras have detection zones turned off - normally never use it. If I accessed a V2 camera from my iPhone, and enabled detection zones, I just got the old square. That persisted if I then accessed that same camera with my Android phone. On the other hand, if I turned on detection zones on a V2 camera from my Android, I was getting the small boxes. This also persisted when accessing that same camera from the iPhone. Turning off detection zone, and then rebooting the phone did NOT change this state.
iPhone app v2.39.0 (16)
Android app v2.39.0 (b176)
V2 cameras 4.9.9.1851
Checking a sample of Original Pan, V3, V3 Pro, Pan V3, and OG-Tele does not show this issue.
I did not notice this when I first updated to 1851, but since then I happened to delete and re-add my V2s.
Now I get the drag-to-resize box, not the previous detection zone grids. It doesn’t matter in my current setup but if you need the grids I would suggest not to delete/re-add your V2s.
I suspect that if you turn off your detection zone it’ll come back as a big box, not grids on iOS.
Yes I had to do a reinstall since my v2 decided it wasn’t recognizing my sd card anymore. After swapping cards and still having same issue I did a reinstall and now stuck with a wide box that is giving tons of false alerts. Ugh
Seeing the same problem with Cam V2 and only since the last update. One of the cameras required a fill reinstall of firmware using the sd card after the update. This seems to be a step backwards.
Yep that’s what happened to me. Wyze can you please undo and revert back to being able to pick small boxes to avoid the constant swaying branches etc.
Come summer it will be useless to even turn this camera on.
Just for your information, the one drag to resize box IS the original. The grids were introduced a year or two ago. Really sorry to see it take a step backwards (but only on iOS - see my post 4 two days ago).
I am having the same problem. Android phone. I had some camera at my house that had the grid. I moved the cameras to another location, set up a new account and added the cameras. Now the cameras just have the box, no the grid. The area that I need to exclude is in the middle only. The box is useless for that. So I get many, many false activations.
When I switch to the old account the cameras have the grid, and the main screen is different. The camera image on the left on the old account On the new account, the camera image takes up the width of the screen with each camera image stacked on top of another. And I just have a selection box, no grid.
Likewise. Reset and re-added (without deleting from the app) a v2 running firmware 4.9.9.1851. None of the cam’s settings were retained. Detection Zone grid of small boxes replaced by the old resizable box.
Please bring back the grid selection layout. Really thinking about switching back to my old security system as the one box is not detecting anything unless i have it detecting the road and everyone that walks by. Living on a busy street this is a problem. Please revert back for IoS. This isnt something new you need to add, just return it to the way it worked with the grid selection…
I’m still waiting… it’s irksome. I pretty have notifications now turned off for that camera… which is redundant – and instead just check throughout day - but yep can miss a major event that way. I’m afraid to do updates now on any of my cameras. Not to mention OG and new pan cameras are funky with the way they work on playback.
