Unfortunately unless something has changed, Oxygen only lets you change the notification sound in the app itself. And since it doesn’t work in the wyze app, you’re stuck with the default. Of course you can change the default but that changes it for everything. As @crease mentioned look into 3rd party apps to do it.
Even my old Samsung running Android 8.1 (use it as a wifi only google voice phone and for running apps I don’t want on my main phone) lets me change app sounds in the OS. No idea why Nord went that way, I guess to make it less confusing (don’t have two conflicting places to do the same thing with each overriding the other I guess).
You’re welcome! I think @dave27 was essentially saying the same thing:
Yeah, I was thinking it was Samsung’s flavor of Android (or at least somewhat Samsung-like) because of the way the navigation buttons showed up in the image you posted.[1]
Yeah, and there are versions of Android that aren’t really “full” Android, like “Android (Go edition)”, sometimes referred to as “Android Go”, which is a pared-down variant of Android that’s intended to run on hardware with lower resources (like budget phones and tablets), so I think it’s important to be aware of those, too. I have that running on a lower-end Lenovo tablet, and the Wyze app and most other things I want to run work fine on that, but it can’t do some things that my phone can do.
This is why I still use my old moto running Android 10, too.
I had Samsung phone once (once!) and never liked the button on the right side. I prefer Android that’s close to stock, so I don’t see any reason to own something other than Motorola or Google phones any time soon. That’s one of the cool things about Android, though, I think: If you like the Samsung way of doing things, you can have that. I’m not aware of that kind of flexibility with iOS. ↩︎
Thank you all. I got it now; no wonder sometimes I couldn’t perform exactly or even have the options like all video tutorials for other issues (I always wondered why same OS would look different on my phone than others, LOL).
