I DON"T GET IT.
I have a PAN and STATIONARY> My PHone doesn’t turn on the PAN by my partners Phone can. We both have Iphones.
the Stationary Camera was the SAME. THIs is a pretty clear indicator of a CACHE conflict. I WOULD ENCOURAGE WYZE TO UPGRADE TO A FASTER SERVER PLS!!!>… this is total BS.
What’s weird is , why would you ask to POWER CYCLE the ROUTER as FIX. This is a pretty clear indicator of the Conflicting Cache issue. I DOn’t have any issues with Other CHina Camera’s. This Company home office is less than 1.5 hr DRIVE from my Home. There should be no LAG or Connectivity Issues> IT is showing true signs of SERVER COnfliction. IT is not the WIFI if it is connected to OPTIKS Medium. THIS IS A SERVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ISSUEEE!!!> FIX IT FIX IT>>
I am having the same problem with one of my Wyze V2 cameras. The internet wifi is strong in my house and that’s not the issue. Maybe defective camera?
It’s a server problem at WYZE.
Your internet connection is controlled by Internet service provider.
All lags, stalls, or connection issues would be at WYZE.
Your Camera is considered a Network Node of the WYZE intranet infrastructure. Similar to VPN connection methodology. But has vulnerabilities due to the internet protocols used which is not proprietary. It’s like an apple Iphone, the technology was created by Darpa (Government tech). IT was repackaged and sold as a "sort of " toy.
My camera is now showing offline and it won’t connect.
Power cycle your house router and Camera(s). Let it reboot.
if it still doesn’t work, Refresh you Router settings to Default and re-set if you’ve changed the settings.
Wyze Home server connectivity problems usually fixes itself at the head end created usually from JIttery Internet connection or a Public internet connection. The Camera would continually re-try connection until it refers you to a power cycle to fix the issue.
I’m having this problem as well. My internet disconnects a lot and for some reason when this happens sometimes my Wyze camera takes FOREVER to start working again, to the point were I have to restart the device! (restarting also takes FOREVER and gives NO indication of how long it’ll take. Seriously, how long dose it take for a device to just turn off and on? This is ridiculous!) There is nothing more irritating than to see that stupid loading circle going on and on and on and never connecting even though I am surfing the internet without ANY problems! This also just happens randomly when I am not even having any internet issues!
Support has the ability to analyze your connection with a tool called RouteThisHelps. It may isolate the issue. Please file a Support Request. You can also submit a request from within the Wyze app by going to Account > Help & Feedback > Report an Issue. The latter method will allow you to include an app log for diagnosis. (Note that if you are using a beta version of the app, the log will be sent to the dev team rather than Wyze Support.)
I was hoping the new updates would fix prior issues Ive been having.
Instead it added more for me …
Like cam live feed on my Android phone app constantly buffing …need to close app to reopen to view now. On my Android table I can even view the live feeds on some cams, only the recorded …
All without any of our doing … and users need to spend more of their time trying to find a FIX for the Wyze anomalies that seem to occurs with their on going tested update(s) that seem to be downgrading their products.
Thanks to ALL the forum members here, for without them I’d be up the creek without a paddle …
Still having problem with connection attempts. Always need to hard reset the cam. Update to the latest firmware. Please help.
I used to think this was. A WIFI issue also. But its not. It’s in the cameras. The only devices in my network that have any issues are the wyze cams. I have 5 cameras 2 of them i just purchased and they all do it. Constant authentication and connection issues. 3 of the cameras are within 10 feet of the wifi router with no walls or obstacles between them. I have about 75 other IOT devices ranging from Lutron switching to smart plugs and thermostats… none of the other IOT equipment suffer this disconnection issue. So lets stop blaming WiFi and start pointing the finger at the real issue. Wyze Cams. Also would like to add if it was a wifi issue killing the app and restarting it shouldn’t fix it… but it seems to do the trick every time.
Could well be. I have 8 on my network. None have connectivity issues. Yours do? My Dad (in his 80’s) has 2, he does not even know what WiFi means yet his cameras have no connectivity issues. Yours do?
Mine used to. I moved them around a little here and there and poof no more issues. Have not had any in awhile.
I have walk though out my house with wifi analyzer. The signal strength is constant and at the top of the chart. Also i live in a rural neighborhood and there is only one other wifi signal in my analyzer. That signal is too weak to interfere. I have no overlapping networks. I have placed all 5 cameras a few feet from the wifi router. Ping from any hard wired device to the router is less than 2ms constant. Ping from any wifi device to the router is less than 5ms. Ping from a wifi device to any other wifi device is less than 10ms. Ping to any wyze cam is 20ms and up sometimes dropping out and as high as 3000ms. These facts lead me to believe the cams have a wifi issue that seems to not be related to my routers
Sigh… perhaps yours do. My ping time right now from a WiFi connected Mac to a Wyze cam is in the 1 to 3 ms range. To my router is in the 2 to 3 ms range.
So since we have the same cameras on a 2.5 Ghz WiFi network you want to explain why your ping time is so bad and mine is so good?
If it’s the cameras I would expect that mine would be similar to yours. Since they are NOT similar that should tell you something.
Take a cam apart and you’ll understand (I’ve taken one apart). As can be expected with such a small enclosure, the Wifi antenna is very minimalist.
EDIT: I ran pings on mine …
a) avg 7 ms, min 6 ms, max 10 ms
b) avg 11 ms, min 8 ms. max 34 ms
c) avg 14 ms, min 8 ms, max 31 ms
It is a small antenna indeed. Although it’s actually a bit larger than the one in my Nest camera.
Here is what I found. This issue is neither the routers problem nor the cameras problem. The issue is congestion on the network. Some thing contribute to this like distance and other wifi signals but mostly this is being cause by congestion created by the cameras. If i run 4 cameras in 360p. Everything works perfectly. As I enable HD on each camera the issue gets worse and wors. This is a WIFI limitation and cannot be overcome until the cameras start using 5ghz wifi. As for rbruceporter If you are running 8 cameras they must be on multiple routers and or set to the lowest res.
I have resolved all connectivity issues by setting the cameras to 360p
One other thing to note. The wifi network only gets congested when viewing all cameras at the same time or streaming RTSP on all devices
All my cameras are HD. But not all routers handle load the same way. My old router I had many issues. With a newer router, and one I did the research on and picked for it’s ability to handle higher loads, I don’t have as many issues with.
This is why when people start getting mad and saying “It can’t be the router” I just smile. I had a then top of line Netgear, 4 years later it was showing its age. I replaced it with a middle of the road Linksys and it was night and day. No congestion with the exact same load.
Very often people don’t realize that routers that implement the exact same WiFi types can differ significantly in HOW they implement a particular protocol.
Yeah, I always hear “it’s not our stuff” when talking to the network team at work. ![]()
