Connection issues with pixel and camera reset

Are they working on the inability to connect new cameras with pixel phones? Every time they do an update all my cameras have to be reset up which is a PITA as it is. But bc I have a pixel phone it takes me a few days to get a hold of a family members phone to redo everything exacerbating the issue. It makes it this WHOLE production and keeps me from using them effectively for sometimes extended periods. I dread doing anything with the settings like trying to reconnect them to a different network that may be stronger because if it has to be reset it triggers a whole thing. It’s driving me insane. I’ve had them over a year and was told they were working on a fix but I’ve seen posts from 3 years back, same issue and still no resolution!

I use a Pixel Phone and have no issues with my cameras, updates, etc.

Can you provide the following:

  1. Camera models you are having issues with?
  2. Pixel Phone you are using?
  3. Wyze App Version?
  4. Did you contact Wyze and submit a log?

Also, I have found that you may be able to get around the issue by following these steps on an Android device / Phone:

  • Start the app
  • Go to the Account area
  • Go to the App Settings area
  • Clear the Cache from there

-Then-

  • Shut the app down by swiping up on it
  • long press the Wyze App and select App Info
  • Go to the Storage and Cache location
  • clear Chche from here as well. Do not clear Storage
  • Back out one menu and do a Force Stop
  • Shut this window down by swiping up.

-Finally-

  • Restart your phone
  • Go back into the app and see if things connect and work
