Connection issue - with a twist

You may have already tried this long shot, but maybe try swapping the cameras’ locations, or swapping the power cubes and see if the issue moves?

I haven’t tried that. Long shot or not I’m going to try it.
Thank you :+1:

I swapped the camera locations with another V3 and the other V3 will record events and live stream on the app as well as on the Web View. The affected one will perform live feed as well as event recording on the app, but only recording events on the Web View but no live feed. So - the affected V3 simply does not care where it is. When I swapped them out, I even swapped out the names and did a complete re-set on the affected one to no avail.

Too weird!

Okay - Today I tried to activate another brand new V3 camera and add it to my Cam Unlimited Plan. Just like the other one I recently activated it fails to perform Live Feed on the Web View. So - Two new V3 Cameras activated - Both record events on the app and allow Live View on the app. Both will record Events on Cam Plus Web View. Both will NOT do Live View on the Cam Plus Web View. Both cameras have been updated to the latest versions available. I even tried to test the Live View on the Web in between each version update (given it is a new camera there were a few). No luck… So - It appears to be an issue (for me at least) that Cam Plus Unlimited does not properly register new V3 Cameras.

Okay so I’m now wondering if the problem is with my.wyze.com. The portal itself.

I am thinking that it is more a problem with Cam Plus Unlimited and how it registers new cameras. The reason I say that is because I have other V3 and BCP Cameras that were activated before the update when they added the Monitoring Tab to the App. Those cameras that I activated before the change do work on the live view on the web, I am thinking that somehow the Cam Plus system had to be modified and now does not register the new cameras properly to allow Live View in (my.wyze.com).

Yes, that makes more sense. That was the same for me. I had Cam1 working fully before I subscribed to Unlimited. I then subscribed, attached Cam2 and it had the issue from the start.

I think you’ve found the source of the problem.

Hopefully the troubleshooting I did will help the techs focus on a solution and ultimately leads to a solution… As an aside - here is a pic of the message I get when attempting Live View on the affected cameras.

My thoughts exactly.

Yes, that’s the message I get too.

I’m also having this problem on 1 of 4 cams. The difference is that it’s a new battery cam pro that has the problem. It does work about 25% of the time but mostly tries to connect and ends up failing.
I’m new to all this (1 month user) but it sure seems that there’s several issues that the company needs to address including the app that can’t do landscape in the settings menu on a tablet, iPad. I’m 67 years old and it pains me to have to turn my head sideways to figure out my settings. They supposedly were addressing that in 2019. :upside_down_face:

Join the line my friend

I’ve been crying for full landscape interface for a very long time :frowning:

Had similar issues (working on app, but not in web-view) back in April and still no resolution: Web-view issues - #30 by danorawr

Right. Maybe this thread will get everyone who has this issue in here. That way, with more and more people flagging it up Wyze might pay attention to it. Here’s hoping.

They were addressing this back in 2019? That ain’t good :frowning:

I want to add another two cameras to my setup. But I’m not laying out cash until Wyze fix this malfunction. This of all our suggestions as to the cause of it makes the most sense to me …

I can add an additional piece of info that helps confirm the improper registration of the camera to the Cam Plus system. Since the latest update where they added the monitoring tab, I randomly get a message informing me I should think about upgrading to Cam Plus even though I have the Cam Plus Unlimited on all my cameras. Obviously in some way the system believes at least one of my cameras is not registered. Yet - When I look to see which cameras are on the system, they all show up !

Really simple and works perfect. Simply download Bluestacks on your PC. Open it and load the WYZE app. Once you do you will see the exact same view you see on your phone. I have 8 V3 cameras and they work perfect. I wish WYZE would modify their program to allow for multiple column so that you don’t have to keep scrolling down to see all your cameras. I’m sure they have no interest because they want to sell you their worthless PC connection. Once you set up Bluestacks you’ll realize how fast and easy it is to use and it’s FREE. Then just add a shortcut on your PC screen and your cameras open instantly. You can tweak Bluestacks to auto load the WYZE App so that it simplifies the process for novice uses like kids and wives…Just one click and the cameras open instantly for them.

Note: I tried to keep this simple so people can get started. Yes Bluestacks is a very powerful program but for the WYZE cameras you are only using the basic function.

Me too.
Well spotted. It’s gotta be the Cam Plus Unlimited software

I tried using Bluestack early on when this fiasco started. I kept getting asked to name a camera. I tried many, many times but it wasn’t accepting what I was typing in. Gave up in the end.

Wyze needs to fix it’s software so we don’t have to go looking for third-party apps to work around it’s own errors.
