I can’t blame you too much. I did the EXACT SAME THING in Q1 2023 when Wyze first started testing this new feature. 
The custom status feature launched in Discourse forum software in Fall 2022, then Wyze tested it with limited Trust Level availability in Q1 2023.
The last time I tried using it about a year ago, my status emoji would also show up when someone used my call tag, like this:
But it didn’t do that for anyone else. Somehow I was the only one with the special Mojo. Maybe I’ll switch back to trying it out again at some point. I haven’t really used it much since then because the status thing seemed to confuse some users at the time, so I thought I’d wait until it got more popular or used more commonly before doing it again. 
I’m glad to see more people starting to use it now.
