“Complete Motion Detected” Spam

I am getting a notification every few minutes, from one camera I just set up, for “complete motion detected”. I have reduced the area of interest, looked through all the detection and notification settings, reduced motion sensitivity, etc. It’s super annoying and also going to lead to missed events that are of actual interest.

Thanks!

Are you saying that the camera is alerting on things it should not be, or you did not realize how much motion there is in the area being watched? If the first, can you post an example or two and we may be able to assist in what is triggering the camera.
Also do you have CamPlus on the camera or cameras?

Welcome to the Forum, @Honey!

I’ve never seen notifications with this particular title, but a search of the Forum reveals this relevant topic:

The settings screenshots and explanation provided by @Seapup may be instructive.

Thanks for the reply. I looked through that post prior to posting.

That respondent uses android, and has a screen title “Detection settings” in which he is able to toggle off “motion events”. No such options exist for me, also i’m an ios user. Perhaps Wyze eliminated that option via an update, but either way I do not see the pathway to limit these erroneous notifications.

It is the same on iOS as it is in Android.

If you go to your Pan Cam V3 Live Stream and tap the gear at the Top Right, go to Event Recording and see if Motion is toggled on (it should be), then below in the Recording Preferences tap on Smart Event so that All events is not on. Then in the Customize recording you can toggle on or off Notify for smart Events.

If you don’t have Cam Plus, Cam unlimited, etc, you will not be able to do this.

If you could post a picture of the Event Recording Screen as well as the Notification Screen, that would help

I can’t speak to the iOS experience specifically, but the original poster in that topic tagged it iphone-ipad and marked the solution, so I thought it might help.

In my v3 Android app with current Cam Pan v3 firmware, I don’t see anything specifically labeled “motion events”, and I don’t see that in the topic I linked. I do see the screens from that topic which I can navigate to via :gear: Settings ➜ Event Recording ➜ Customize Detections. That’s where you want to pay attention to your selections (as the other topic noted). There is a Detection Settings option on the main Settings screen for Cam Pan v3, but that’s not where you want to focus your attention for this issue.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have cam unlimited FYI. I’ve attached screenshots, there are no options for “motion events”. I also get a “sound detected” every time a motorcycle rolls by. I’ve attached screenshots pertaining to event recording as well as notification settings. I’m only allowed to post one photo per post, so expect multiple replies from me. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks again

would you be opposed to posting the actual event. I am wondering if it is mis-tagging it.

I will also see if there are any reports

@Honey , can you generate a device log from the camera and post it here along with the Firmware version. In addition, Wyze would also like you to try to do a Reset Service on the Camera. This is located under the cameras settings page at the bottom. Select Reset Services and then see if that corrects it as well.

Once you post the Log, I will provide it.
