Comments on Demand

I think 10% of my support tickets came from admins who decided to change some “harmless” setting months before. Then after the whole system goes through a scheduled reboot, everything’s broke.

Back to :turkey: (s) I do have one Turkey friend she has been coming to the golf course every spring for the last 5 years and I named her Thérèsia . I saw her this morning but couldn’t give her any snacks because her 6 chicks are to small and she gets upset easy. By next week she will be walking right up to me asking for some cracked corn snacks or anything else I have to feed her and the babies. Last year she started with 9 chicks and 5 survived and stayed around until late summer when the were the same size as Mom. The year before she had 14 chicks and only 4 survived, a red Fox got all the others in a period of about 20 minutes despite her beating on the Fox when she could catch up with him, sad day.
I was happy to see her this morning event though my golf game was :poop: :poop:

What was the most common problem?

What kind of problem challenged your skills the most?

What kind of problem did you most dread?

Good story, Antonionius.

This is starting to sound like a job interview! Since I’m not getting paid, I’m going to pick and choose to answer the ones (I think) I have something interesting to say. :upside_down_face:

The products were quite solid, so most problems were performance-related. Like memory leak after running the server for months, etc.

The problem I dreaded most was to help a not-so-technical sales guy prepare for his oh-so-important demos. Most sales guys I’ve met are nice, but this one liked venting and complaining about software products he didn’t understand how to use.

So sometimes when I read the posts on this forum, I go, “is that you… Pete?”

I like that punchline! ‘to prove he wasn’t chicken’ :joy:

I don’t have any opinions on the mesh routers, I have an eero mesh myself. Since I’m on a budget I have to pick and choose my wyze products carefully. And since I had just bought the erro a couple months before the wyze router was announced, I have to stick with that for the time being.

Also, sorry I’ve been hit or miss the last few days. Working overtime the last 2 weeks and I’m just tired y’all. :joy:

I know, huh!

Reminds me of a French joke about a guy who falls overboard in a storm at sea. It’s idiomatic - can’t (remember or) explain.

Agree, that breathes some life into the old riddle! I give Kleenex* no credit for it, though. It’s a greedy thief.

 * I’ve decided to refer to XX as Kleenex. Using its proper name only encourages it.

Peepster alert!

I’ve either been overworked or traveling/otherwise preoccupied.

Please excuse any rude delay in my response.

My one Turkey friend Thérèsia Turkey and her six chicks followed me around the golf course yesterday because I had a bag of cracked corn and I gave them some on the 4th fairway. After eating they followed me around another 5 holes.

Twitter masks-up (by requiring that viewers mask-off.)

Thanks, Kleenex.

They’re also setting fairly low rate limits for all accounts for how many total tweets you can view before you’re locked out for the day. That shocks me. I wonder how many people will have to unfollow Elon on Twitter now just to cut down on their rate limits. I think the new rate limit policy is going to choke Twitter really badly. It’s like he’s trying to bankrupt Twitter and push everyone onto Bluesky and NOSTR in the long term. :man_shrugging:
