I posted this on another question in the forum, but I successfully installed 3 xfi pods and was able to keep my Wyze cams working. I think a key was that when I merged the two bands I used the existing SSID and password for the 2.4 GHZ band, which is what the Wyze cams were already using. The benefits of the “broadband steering” that the xfi pods create is that you are automatically using the best connection at any time, and don’t need to reconnect, but this means you are never sure if you are on a 5.0 or 2.4 channel. Apparently the Wyze camera only recognizes the 2.4 anyway. If I need to restart, move or reinstall the cameras I am hopeful that it will also go smoothly. And yes, the speed and reliability of my wifi connection has improved (especially in dead spots) so this seems to be a good solution.
