Pan cam wont take firmware push from micro SD. Tried it 5 different times. Holding the button 10-15 seconds does nothing. Holding it any longer factory resets it. Anything less that 10-15 & same, just starts up. I have made sure to format the card to Fat32 & rename the file.
This cam won’t take an OTA firmware update.
Also does anyone know if we can flash older firmware onto them? I’m trying everything to get rid of the 3001 error & actually be able to use my cameras. Already missed one event that was important because of it!!
What size SD card? What OS on the computer you are using to extract and copy the firmware? Which firmware version?
Asking all of this because from your description it sounds like you aren’t getting the firmware file to the SD card or the SD card is larger than 32gb.
Wyze Cam v1 firmware files can be found on the Release Notes page.
Download the specific version of firmware from the Release Notes, For Windows 10 right-click in the folder and select extract all. For Mac: just drag and drop folder, and put it on the root directory of your microSD card and rename it to FIRMWARE_660R_F.BIN.
Power off your camera and insert your MicroSD card.
Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, and keep holding the setup button for 12-15 seconds, then release the button.
Wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and change light status during this time.
After it is done, the camera light should be flashing yellow (ready to set up).
Re-setup your device as a new device.
After trying the push and putting the card back into the PC there are 4 new folders on the card.
.ota
alarm
record
time_lapse
Those are the instructions and the File Name for the Cam V1… Not the Cam Pan V1. If that is the file name you are using, it will never work.
Flash Firmware for Wyze Cam v2 & Wyze Cam Pan
Wyze Cam v2 and Pan firmware files can be found on the Release Notes page.
Download a specific version of firmware, For Windows 10: Right-click on the folder and select extract all. For Mac: Just drag and drop the folder, put it on the root directory of your microSD card. For both Mac and Windows, rename the file to demo.bin.
Power off your camera and insert your microSD card.
Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds until the light is solid blue, then release the button.
Note: The “Solid Blue” in this case is not the same as the one normally seen on the camera. Instead, both the blue and yellow LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a lighter blue.
Wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and change light status during this time.
Once this is done, your camera should be functioning with the original setup. No need to re-setup your camera!
From the links the OP posted to the firmware versions they tried, it looks like the correct firmware version was being downloaded, just renamed to the incorrect .bin file name.
Were you ever able to manually update the pan V 1? Im trying to as well. I suspect wyze had secretly sabotsged the process of updsting old psn v 1s. I say that becausr i hooked up an old pan v1 to link to a new wifi. That worked fine. Then i tried to update the firmware via wifi. That failed and the camera would no longer work. Tried to msnuly update and that wont work.
Same issue here. found 2 cam pan v1 in my closet. 1 of them updated without issues, the other one bricked.
Tried all instructions… but still wonto work. And older firmware versions are nowhere to be found… any idea?
I’m also having the exact same problem. Camera was working fine. Tried to update to latest version now I can’t get it working with a flash from the SD card with any of the published versions.
