Can't connect to Pan Cam v2 after android app update to 2.26.22!

I just updated to 2.26.22 android app version, then I tried to connect to my cam pan v2 cam and it goes from connecting 1/2 to 2/3 in about a second as usual, but then hangs on 2/3, it then starts to quickly display “Try to connect 1 times” then “try to connect 2 times” in like 1 second later, then “3 times”, then displays "Please try 1. force closing app and retry, 2.power cycle the camera.

However, I am able to connect to a v3 cam at that same location with NO problem which is farther away from the router!

Come on Wyze - test your apps before you release them!

Now I can access the pan cam at all!

I am not having this issue with my Pan Cam v2. Have you power cycled the camera? Unplug from wall, wait for about 15 seconds, then plug back in. I have to do this occasionally after an update.

Unfortunately, I can’t do that - the camera is 4 hours away :frowning:

The camera was working fine before I did the app update, so the problem is cause by something wyze did.

Understand that. Sorry it is 4 hours away. You may want to add a smart plug to the location where the camera plugs in so you can power cycle it. Most of us do this. Until it is power cycled, you may not be able to get it back online, that has been my experience. By chance, do you have anyone who has access to your home who can do the reset for you?

One other thing to try and understanding you cannot stream, there are instances where the gear in appears for the camera in the top right. Click on that, scroll to the bottom and see if you can do a restart. At times, you can accomplish this without being able to stream.

Thanks for the tips.

"there are instances where the gear in appears for the camera in the top right. "

I always thought the gear won’t appear unless it can successfully connect to the camera, so I’ll see if I can do that.

“You may want to add a smart plug to the location where the camera plugs in so you can power cycle it.”

I should not have to do that - I have other foscam and amcrest cameras that never had a need to do that.

These are suppose to be “remote security cameras”, not “Hand-holding cameras”.

When ever you have an issue do a hard reboot on the camera, we have 6 of the ptz version 2 at 6 sites and no issues after firmware/app updates,I have notice that the version 2 loads much faster than version 1

Me neither. I’d try rebooting phone/tablet.

@Seapup brought up another thing to try which I also do and seems to work. Reboot the phone or tablet. I actually go further and clear the cache from within the app. And then, if you have an Android phone, clear the cache from the OS. Do a long press on the app icon, then select Storage and Cache and clear the cache.

When you do this, your thumbnails will be missing on the camera’s. Simply start the live stream to get the thumbnails back.

Thanks everyone.

I did a bunch of the power-cycles (power button in the app for that camera) and I eventually was able to connect to it.
