I have to admit after being with wyze for so long.
We will not continue with buying anymore products from wyze or use word of mouth to promote wyze.
Cameras haven’t connected remotely since april 2024 Each time I get a different Wise wizard getting back to me. No updates or phone calls from the engineering team to help pinpoint my problem.
I paid $89 for an annual unlimited plan on April 2024 Along with $136.31 on a 2 pack of cam pan V3 on March 2024 that I cant even use the cameras because the pan cam V3 keeps disconnecting even while at home. And cant even return the two V3 cameras ( I actually have three V3’s one from before - Sept 6th 2024 $58.61 Outdoor adapter and 1 wise cam PAN V3 - and one not opened from the two pack)
The help and feed back is disappointing. The replys are typed nice but i doesnt help me or make me feel confident in Wzye anymore.
So not counting all the other cameras I’ve bought in the previous years (11 in total) Along with scale and lamp and timer hubs. That’s $283.92. of equipment, and unlimited subscriptions just on the PC V3 that is useless for me. I feel abandoned by wyze. And in this forum, I see people had the same problem back in February and it’s still a problem.

I don’t know if you were seeking any particular response, but Wyze indicated just yesterday that they’re working on at least two of the issues you addressed:
I can definitely relate to this sentiment:
I’ve expressed my disappointment and frustration with Support and inaccurate Help Center articles elsewhere on the Forum. For as great as some Wyze products seem to have the potential to be, the service after the sale definitely has room for improvement. I think there’s a lot of fair criticism that’s been written here, but any meaningful change has to come from within the company itself, and I don’t have any insight into that. I can just commiserate with your disappointment and likely shift at least some of my recommendations elsewhere based on my own recent experiences with competitors’ products.
I hear you. I’ve got some new cameras from another company and they work get, inexpensive and can connect remotely always…so far.
Crease: I don’t know what I’m looking for, just frustrated.
That’s an appropriate answer. I dig.
Do you happen to use Xfinity or another ISP that has “security” built into their router (Xfinity calls it Advanced Security). Have you tried disabling it if so?
I have OGs and Pan V3s and am basically always connecting to them from “outside” since they are on an isolated network, separate from my phone, so I must stream via Wyze’s servers even when at home. However when I tested putting my phone on the same network and disabling client isolation, they streamed directly to the phone just fine. I use an Asus router, I know lots of people run into strange issues with ISP routers, especially the Xfi ones.
All I’m saying is don’t be hasty to blame Wyze, next week your new brand could get flagged as false positive by your ISP router’s “security” filtering (if you’re using an ISP router). They also have some odd implementations of some of the wifi standards that can interfere as well, especially when you have the wifi hotspot enabled, which it is by default.
Hey Dave,
So without sounding smart you want me to disable security. When the whole idea of having cameras is for security. How does this put me at risk and I wouldn’t know how to disable it.
Crazy enough my 2 OG’s are the only ones connecting remotely.
I did by a t p link six antenna router. Not sure if that would make a difference? Haven’t hooked it up yet.
Tks Glenn
Dave, Also I’ve had wyze cameras for years and never had a problem with remote connectivity.
Not sure if this is a definite, but it seemed like it all started when I got V3 PAN cams. or really when I paid $89 unlimited subscription.
Would it be wyze( No pun intended, Okay, maybe a little.)to have a better router anyway if i’m going to have up to 10 to 15 cameras, A few are at my mother’s.home.
Not disable security, disable their “advanced security” feature which is basically a URL and IP blacklist that is known to have many false positives, and which you cannot customize or add exceptions to. If you find something being blocked that shouldn’t be, you have to submit a form to them, wait a few days, and if you get no response, escalate it. Even that is no guarantee it will get removed (or won’t get re-added). Your firewall will still be enabled, and most web browsers have a similar blacklist built in that you can add exceptions to.
If nothing else, just do it as a test. You can re-enable it if turning it off doesn’t help. Personally I say leave their filter disabled, and make sure your endpoints have a filter on them (via web browser or virus scanner). But if you really want that additional layer of a blacklist, a 3rd party router that lets you add exceptions is a far better solution. Asus has Trend Micro built in, I believe Netgear also has one (haven’t used their routers in a while). I don’t believe TP Link includes one, but you can manually add sites to block to most their routers.
The TP link would probably give you much better coverage than the Xfi gateway. If you don’t need the Xfi gateway (to get unlimited data if you’re in a region with data caps being the main reason I know of to keep it) you can buy your own modem and use your TP Link router, and return theirs to avoid the monthly fee. If you do need to keep their gateway, just put it in bridge mode, it will operate as a modem only and your TP Link will do everything else.
To start I’d try disabling the advanced security (you have to log into your account or I believe you can do it via their app also). Disable their hotspot while you’re at it, why let them charge other people to be able to use your wifi? See if that helps the remote connectivity issue.
My Pan v3s seem to connect to more remote servers than my OGs. So it is possible the v3s are the ones impacted due to one of those servers being blocked by Xfi Advanced Security.
If the Xfi gateway is giving you good coverage to all your cams and you have no issue with performance when on the LAN, then I guess it is fine. But most likely the TP Link or another better router will yield better performance and range than theirs.
The few cams at your mothers home are totally separate, that doesn’t have anything to do with the ones at your own place. If the few there are working, probably fine as is, and just focus on your own home and the router there.
