Cannot Add Floodlight Pro cam

I purchased the Floodlight Pro Cam. The first 1 would not “add” got all the way to the “adding Floodlight Pro Cam” part of setup and it basically times out and please wait a minute and try again. I dutifully wait and tried multiple times. I reset everything, turned off power, the whole 9 yards. I called customer support and they couldn’t do anything different other than tell me to turn on location at all times, still nothing worked. So they offered to send a new camera or send me a gift card. I opted for a new camera.

New camera comes. I set it all up and have the same problem. I updated to the beta version of the Wyze app. I restarted my phone and went through the whole setup process again. Just to get the same results, I can’t add the camera.

Any ideas? I will be calling support but I have a feeling I will get the same 2 options, new camera or gift card again.

Where are you trying to complete setup? The one thing that comes to mind for me is pre-wiring the device close to your Wi-Fi signal source to make sure everything is working before placing it in a permanent location, something like this:

I’ve had situations with other stubborn IoT things where bringing the device close to the gateway (wireless access point/router) helped (trying to maximize signal strength during initial setup/pairing) and have also had to disable everything except the 2.4 GHz radio on the gateway (just temporarily, during setup). I wouldn’t expect that last bit to be an issue with Cam Floodlight Pro, since it’s supposed to support 5 GHz, but you asked for ideas so those are things I might consider trying.
